Gates of Hell : Battle for Moscow (SP/COOP)

This is a mod about a alternative history scenario(more about it further down) in which you get to control the SS division "Krieg" which is fighting in the city of Moscow(1946.).The division just got some new weapons to test out on the Soviets.

The mission is quite hard (just saying)

Bridge for the 2nd mission is fixed,you can now send tanks across it but,I had to make it diffrently and now it's uglier than it originally was.

You have 2 versions of the missions : the one with plasma guns(the upper "battle for moscow") and the one without(the lower "battle for moscow")

in the 2nd part of the mission some enemies are equiped with panzerfausts(captured) so watch out

The mod requires : - Robz Realism mod
- Assault contact 2 mod

Incase if you are going to use the 50mm airstrake where you press the button,that is from where it will start shooting,so press the button infront of the target(it is not accurate that is why it costs only 1 point)

Background about the war in the mission's timeline :


This is a mod that takes place in alternative history.During the timeline of the mission pretty much everything up until 1941. happened exactly the same as in our timeline(with the exception of Germany also anexing Sweden because the Reich needs dat iron ore and Engima never being captured).The German high command predicted that Germany isn't ready for the invasion on the USSR so the invasion was postponed until a later date.During the time of "getting ready" the technique of submarine warfare was perfected by the Germans and because of that Hitler decided that instead of invading the UK he will starve it to surrender so the submarins sunk every transport ship heading to Britain.US seeing the war with Germany had no real danger decided to deal with the threat on the Pacific.But the Soviet Union had been also preparing itself for war(most of their Army stayed in the east because the Soviets were afraid of a Japanese offensive).In 1944 they launched a massive offensive under the name Operation Bagration.The offensive didn't last too long because the Wehrmacht was more than prepared(offensive started in March and ended in May).After this,the German Army launched it's counterattack codenamed "Blitzkrieg"

.The German aim was to capture the oil fields of Caucasus (most important objective),Surround Leningrad and push to Moscow.Leningrad was surrounded by July and German divisions were at the gates of Stalingrad by November.The Group center was 500km away from Moscow by that same time.The high command issued the order to prepare for the winter(in the enticipation of the Soviet offensive which never happened).Operation "Blitzkrieg" didn't complete it's expectations so the order was given as soon as the snow melts to push towards Caucasus and to defend the rest of the front at any cost.Operation "Blau" started in April 1945.By May Germans were in the outskirts of Stalingrad(6th Army was sent into Stalungrad).The high command decided to wait another month for Stalingrad to be captured so that the Army could push towards Caucasus.By the end of the next month Germans were already in the city,but were met with fierce oposittion.The High command had a difficult choice to make ; to push towards Caucasus and cut the Soviet oil supply and reunite with Rommel(he was in Jerusalem by now{Deus Vult}) but that would leave their flank exposed or to concentrate all their forces on Stalingrad.The order to push towards Caucasus was given.
By the winter Caucasus was captured and Group South was reunited with Rommel .This is exactly what the Soviets waited for.On the 6th of December they launched a massive winter offensive.The offensive did not manage to dislodge the Germans out of Caucasus but it managed to surround the 6th Army in Stalingrad.Hitler decided to act immidiately and order to break through the encirclement.The attack was a disaster.The 6th Army had to hold out until Spring.

And so it did.By the time the German Spring offensive broke through to the 6th Army,the 6th was barely even a single division strong(the survivors took their last stand at Mamayev).A nightmare happened in the city: the 6th fought to keep hold of every building until the death.Because of the lack of supplies many of the soldiers had a hard choice ; to starve to death,or resort to canibalism(and there were plenty of bodies around).But the battle had been won.In the end over 4.5 million people died during the battle and Stalingrad was nothing more than a field littered with rubble,shellholes and dead bodies(Ended in April 1946.)

.After this the most of the experienced troops of Red Army had perished.This opened the way for the knockout blow-Moscow.Operation "Zitadel" was the name for that fatal blow.It started in May 5th 1945.The Germans were at the gates of Moscow just a week after the offensive started.But from there on the real struggle began.For every meter of ground the Germans had to pay a hefty place,but that did not stop them.By the time of this mission the death toll of the battle already reached atleast 1 million.
