Pangaea++ (Map Only)

Description
A hand-drawn, huge map similar to the Pangaea maps added with the Explorer's Map Pack DLC.

This map works best for:

Something around 19 Civilizations
Because of the size of the map, fewer Civs will mean very large empires with dozens of cities, which could - for some -
feel repetitive and a little tedious.

Not less than 19 City States
Less than 19 City States could lead to a situation where one Civ hogs a luxury, and you then may have no City State as alternate source if your cities demand that luxury. Exactly 19 City States is a safe setting for this map.

Difficulty Levels of King, or harder
The map's terrain hands a human player a distinct advantage. A higher difficulty level helps the AI be competitive.

Raging Barbarians
With the AI Civ's hobbled by the more difficult terrain, Raging Barbarians are an enjoyable challenge for a human player to fight for the first key, strategic points of the map.

Important: this map is optimized for the
Community Development Patch (CBP/Vox Populi)
It's an incredible re-work of the base Civ V that makes the game that much better. Best: it's free! More here: http://civ-5-cbp.wikia.com/wiki/Civ5_CBP_Wikia
Even if you prefer not to run the complete Community Balance Patch (CBP), it is advisable to activate the "More Luxuries" sub-mod, because the map places its nine additional luxuries and the additional city-state luxury. The mod can be subscribed here:

If you like realism..
... and hate when England spawns on a tropical coastline, or Siam starts landlocked in the Taiga, or the City State of Kuala Lumpur is located on tundra tiles next to the Danes, then consider playing this map using a scenario:

Scenario:
If you own both the Brave New World and the Gods & Kings expansions, here is a version of this map (w/ scenario included) that has realistic starting locations for all 21 playable Civs and 19 City States:

Hope you'll have a lot of fun exploring and conquering this vast world!

The Steam client may create that folder only when you first download a mod. Be sure to follow the steps in sequence: close Civ V, in Steam, click the green "Subscribe" button. Boot Civ V back up, go into the Mods option in the menu, then give it a little time for the game to synch up to Steam. After a minute or some more a download bar will appear that shows that the download has strated. As long as that doesn't happen, you've not actually downloaded the mod. Once it did download, do a quick search on your hard drive for a Pangeae++ file. That'll take you to the folder. Go from there as described in the scroll above. Much fun with the map!
