One column houses a cargo elevator, the other a passenger stairwell.

There's a 1 block gap inbetween the landing strip and the underside, which is mostly empty apart from some internal red lighting. So plenty of room for anyone wanting to add electronic stuff for the lights.
The Cargolift is at the halfway position (simply adjust to desired height while building)
