Hyrule 2.1

T1m0shi's Map Pack

Description

Map Features:

- Lots of regions to conquer and explore such as The Great Hyrule Forest, Zora's Domain, Death Mountain, Gerudo Desert, and more!
- Balanced resources for fun play against AI or in multiplayer
- Accurate to the game! (Actually sat with my Switch going over each zone)
- Many hours invested into creating immersive details while maintaining playability.

Updates:
-Added "backdoors" for added balance. So I'm uploading it as a separate map for those who like it the other way.

Thanks for those who enjoyed my earlier maps and I finally have a map that I feel satisfied with, and I hope you will too!

Starting a new game, "Hyrule Field" is named "4" and the neighboring "West Necluda" is named "5"? Anyone else getting this issue, or is it something on my end?

Unfortunately I don't know :( I haven't updated this for a long time and am pretty busy with school, but I might be able to take a look. I don't even know if it works on my own setup since I haven't played for so long.

@T1m0shi I can't seem to get this map to work for some reason, every time I load it up it loads up a randomly generated map of a similar size, but no hyrule areas. I am running on the EL Community Patch, but I could have sworn I got this to work with that patch before. Any suggestions?

@Borrowed_Time ah yes I remember now how I had little clusters to try and make it random since they didn't have a built-in random spawn tile. Yes I believe you're correct in that you can just have 1 spawn point for each place. I reopened Tiled (which is version 1.2.3 for the one I had installed since I haven't updated at all) and there also is a race spawn option, so no matter which player you are it seems like it would be able to spawn you there if you're playing that race.

Well, when I opened your map I saw that each spawn location had little flags titled "Spawn 0", "Spawn 1", etc, all together in each of those areas you designated to be potential spawn zones. I think to make it not random, all you'd need to do is delete all but one of the flags in each place. For instance, making "Spawn 0" only present in Central Hyrule and nowhere else, and "Spawn 1" in Gerudo Desert only and nowhere else, etc. If you wanted to do it anyway!

@Borrowed_Time First off, welcome back, EL is awesome :) Second, I think there is a way to have specific players to spawn at the same location each time, but It's been two years since I've touched it so I don't remember how to do it, and I think even this current version of my map isn't always random.
@Wintzie Thank you! It's been a long time since I created these maps, but yes, I do remember using an older version of Tiled because I updated it and my maps stopped working so they have to be some old version which I think should take care of that error.

You did a very good job, I love this map!
I've tried creating my own map, but I can't get it to run.

Could you explain to me how you got your map to load properly?

Do you use a specific template or an older Tiled version?
I really dont know why I always get an Error (Argument is out of range, parameter name: index).
I've searched through the entire g2g Forum, Steam Guides and the Wiki, but have found nothing why new maps (based on the tutorial map) do not work.
You seem to be the only person who is active and knows how to create working maps.

I hope you can help me out.

After a long hiatus I decided to come back and play EL a bit, tried to play with the modding of maps myself. I think I figured out why the spawns aren't specific, and tried to edit a version to allow the same player slot to spawn in the same region; however maybe because I was editing your map, something wasn't working right when I would try to load it myself. So my question is, could you possibly upload a version where each spawn tile is set to a single area? I.e. "Spawn 0" only in Central Hyrule, "Spawn 1" only in Rito village, "Spawn 2" in the Great Forest, "Spawn 3" in Death Mountain, "Spawn 4" in Zora Domain, "Spawn 5" in Sheikah village area, "Spawn 6" at Gerudo Desert, and "Spawn 7" maybe down in Faron? Currently, you have all 8 spawns spread in every spawn location, which makes it random every time. Just thought it would be neat to be able to create rough Hyrulean civilizations for each of the staple peoples of the land. Either way, it's a fantastic map you made!
