Commands note:
After a number of costly battles against Onyx Watch capital ships, the idea of having a cheap and powerful assult ship circulated amongst the naval development branch as battleships are expensive and logistics need more ships that can effectively destroy the heavily armored adversary. It was devised that having a small ship with a large armerment (larger than usual in this navy) can be a good canidate to achieve this goal, there were some captured ones like marauders and catapults, but their performance and flexability were lacking. It was decided to create a small hull with a set of prototype battleship cannons as the armerment, the larger long-range set became the "pike" while a partner with the smaller fast-firing ship became the "halberd". Admirals like to call them 'budget battlecruisers' and have proven them to be effective as such. Its been recorded that some cheeky captains like to drive these ships to point-blank range to cause maximum damage, some claiming they can split destroyers in half in one good shot.

Oz's note:
Is it rediculous, yes. is it effective, yes. Do I have a personal one to snipe s**t posters from miles away, yes.
