Mystics

Many other factions disputed the existence of magic; with modern technology, many of the seemingly impossible deeds of the past could have easily been explained, they said. However, magic got this faction into space much before anyone else...

Who are the Mystics? Are they a race of birdlike people? Are they Terrans? Are they drunk space wizards? Nobody knows. All they know is that the Mystics have been around for a very, very long time.

The Mystics is the second faction mod I've uploaded to the Workshop. While it doesn't have a terribly vast block palette, the building style is quite rewarding. The hull blocks mostly consist of hexagonal tiling and variants of it as well as rods of varying width. The weapons and other modules serve as bauble-like structures extending from the main ship. With these simple tools, a variety of shapes and ships can be made.

The Mystics have powerful weaponry, which is balanced out by their bulky and heavy hull along with their (for the most part) short range. Their weaponry is focused on heavy but energy-intensive attacks. Exploiting their weakness will allow you to prosper over the Mystics.

The Mystics also have a larger focus on being fun to play against, and you have to unlock the faction yourself. Fortunately, the Mystics are fairly common. There are regions of varying difficulty as you journey closer to the center of the galaxy.

They went to space a long, long time ago because magic, and they fight with bulky and somewhat low to mid-ranged yet powerful ships. Their ships use hexagonal tiling and rods with bauble-like weapons and modules. You can play as them, too, but you've gotta unlock 'em yourself by beating one of their big ships!
