Description

The M4A1-S | "Bellatrix" is a continuation of the Novo Cup series and an attempt at a NASCAR-inspired racer skin. Also partially inspired by Cars. Part of the NOVO CUP collection. Includes subtle normal-mapping. Rusts at Well-Worn to a subtle brown.

The arena had filled up. As the crowd cheered, the contestants entered the oval track. The crowd spotted something different.

A new contestant had made his debut.

Sponsors on the skin are fictitious. All fonts used reserved for commercial usage.

1 THE BEGINNING
The SSG-08 took on a green and black appearance [i.imgur.com] sometime in late September of 2017, with brushed metal coating the majority of the gun. The green was intended to depict the skin/racer as an eco-friendly and modern racer. The Bellatrix logo and the "36" were also present with the carbon fiber. With time, I realized that it was pretty much impossible to deal with the projection errors that 3D Coat provided. The SSG-08 also had an uncolorable scope which made the skin itself less interesting. I continued on and off with the skin until I decided an M4A1-S would do the job better sometime in December.

2 CHANGES
The M4A1-S maintained the green alongside the general style and single-color, grey, dull sponsors. The brushed metal made way to a less noticeable textured metal diffuse. The green eventually became cyan green, alongside dull blue accenting. With time I later settled on a light blue with purple accents. Towards the end, sponsors received color despite clashing with the original concept of a modern racer.
