Known as Canada's Greatest Athlete, Gene Kiniski was a bodybuilder and a football player prior to his wrestling career. He would go on to be a top competitor for several decades and Big Thunder's backbreaker would net him wins around the world. Kiniski would reach the height of his career when he defeated the great Lou Thesz in 1966 for the NWA World Heavyweight title, and three years would go by with the Canadian as a champion.
