The crash is caused because either model is trying to load a texture borrowed from Serious Sam 3 that I used for a detail in the model. (Even if you try to play SSHD levels you will still need SS3 in order to use this model).
As I mentioned very vaguely before (I'm very sorry for this), it's a requirement to own both SSHD games as well as SS3 in order to avoid any issues, as even without this texture it's very likely that there are still some shared files between both SSHD and SS3 versions (for example, particle effects may require assets from SS3).
The only feasible solution would be to purchase Serious Sam 3, in which case I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and for borrowing so much of your time. I have since updated the description of the mod to reflect this requirement better, as it wasn't very clear or not clear at all originally.
I hope you can see it, that's the crash error message it gives my friend.
The crash happens whenever the models are loaded, either from the playermodel select screen, or by another player using it.
When do crashes occur? When selecting the playermodel through the playermodel menu, or when playing with any specific model for a bit?
For the record, I'm currently running through all three games with the version you download from the workshop and so far there seem to be no crashes when selecting a model and when playing with it. (This as well as having any other unfinished content of mine disabled).
If your friend owns all three games it would also be a good suggestion to unsubscribe from the mod and then subscribe again as the workshop sometimes tends to mess up the downloads.
First load the moddable version for the game and try to get it to crash, then go to the directory where you have the game installed (in my case it's D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Serious Sam Fusion 2017) and go to the "Log" folder.
From here open Sam2017_Unrestricted.log, copy the contents of it and paste them on a website like pastebin and send the contents to me so I can take a look at what the error could be.
Please also make sure that you have all 3 games (HD First Encounter, HD Second Encounter and BFE).
