If you want to use this mod to play human-computer games, you need to know AI will waste a large amount of builders' labor on building farms in the desert, and will not allow citizens to work on the farms at all, which means that the construction progress of AI will lag behind you even more.

How to play it without the need of "civil engineering" ?:

Go to steamapps\workshop\content\289070\1309357146
Then open th eDesertFarm.sql with notepad++
copy that:
INSERT INTO Improvement_ValidTerrains (ImprovementType, TerrainType, PrereqCivic) VALUES ('IMPROVEMENT_FARM','TERRAIN_DESERT_HILLS');
Paste this in place of all line 6.

Does not work with Oct Update.

What do I need to do to get this to work? The only other mod I have is Tundra Farms and I have no DLC if that's relevant. It worked fine for me in the past though that was a year or two ago

The Civil Engineering prerequisite is for Farms on Hills, in this case Desert Hills

I can also confirm that the Civil Engineering prerequisite is not working, as I was able to build desert farms long before I even reached the Industrial Era.

As far as I can tell, this mod's prerequisit is now broken. In my games with this mod enabled I can build farms from turn 1!!

Took me a while to locate the right one. Pick yours is the only one that actually helps make Deserts Tolerable, thanks mate.
