Cheat Power

Description
#####
TL;DR
#####

The TL;DR is this... A battery (super battery in the block menu) that has 4 PW power. That's 4 Petawatts.

Info on just how powerful a petawatt is down below in technical information.

Also a similarily overpowered super solar panel.

What is this?

Instead of make up some silly backstory and pretend like I'm a company presenting you the designs on some cutting edge power source, I'm just going to be straight with you. This is for cheating, and not some silly "oh this is totally balanced" manner. If you're going to cheat, do it properly for crying out loud!

The short story is this:

Slap one down on a grid and in all likelihood, its electrical power will start to say 0 seconds remaining, but it'll have power. The 0 seconds remaining is due to a bug in the game. I've powered extremely massive ships with extremely high power requirements off of just one of these batteries, no power sources needed, for weeks and made no noticeable dents in the power level.

I've seen a similar battery mod made for cheating calling itself "OP". It supplies between 5 and 10 GW of power. The battery in this mod supplies 4 PW of power. I didn't make it supply more because I don't know the technical limitation of the floating points used in the game, and 4 PW is right up against the upper limit of can be accomplished with a 32bit float.

The mod is very very simple. It adds two new blocks for both small and large grids. They are both as follows:

Super Solar Panel: 4 petawatt output.
Super Battery: 4 petawatt storage, 4 petawatt output, 4 petawatt starting power supply, 0 required power input.

You say you've never heard of a petawatt? Well, a petawatt is 1000 terawatts. A terawatt is 1000 gigawatts. A gigawatt is 1000 megawatts. That's a thousand thousand thousand thousand thousand watts. Or a million million watts. Or a million gigawatts... times 4...

If this sounds monsterously powerful, it is. To put it into perspective, one of these solar panels in its max efficiency, outputs over 200 times the amount of power that Humanity consumes every second at its current rate of power consumption. That's all human energy consumption, including electrical, internal combustion, and even food consumption.

Just one of these super solar panels and one super battery on a ship and you can power it pretty much indefinitely.

The durability, build time, and requirements to build them are all the same as the vanilla versions, and this does not replace the vanilla versions.

TL;DR 4PW battery is so powerful, it makes a GW battery look like those tiny button cell batteries in a laser pointer.

If I ever get a round tuit and start playing the game again, I intend on making an even cheatier version that uses up only a 1x1x1 space on small grids. I just need to figure out how to make a textured cube, get it into the game, and link it to the cheat battery.

Cheating is wrong, people. Don't do it. Or do it. It's your server, I don't care.

If you're interested in insane levels of, excuse-free cheating, I also have a cheat gyro that's 100 times the power of a normal gyro with the same power and resource requirements of a normal gyro. Any more powerful than 100 times more powerful and it's impossible to install it on a ship built by a sane person without turning the ship into a demonically possessed fidget spinner. Even then, you have to go into the terminal and adjust the power leel of the gyro till it doesn't basically wreck your ship the moment you try to turn it when in close proximity to something else.

I made both mods to allow ships to be more artfully made, because building everything in blocks forces you to engage in unnecessary mass bloat.

The signal update broke this mod. I get a critical error anytime I load this mod.

Oh, thanks for the info

The source files are easy to get. Find the mod in your mods folder and rename it to .zip and unzip it.

Any chance you still have the source files for this mod (and are will to let someone do the update)? The input function doesn't seem to be set for the batteries, so there is no way to ever charge them if you need/want to. That, or the solar panels from this mod is not distributing power properly.

It still works tho

This is why I hate mods. You find a good one, and not only does it not work, but hasn't been updated in 5 years and the "author" doesn't play anymore.

Space Engineers is too high IQ for me but using this mod still helps me have fun making fun ships 😎
