Distant shots

Description
UPDATE: New sounds for a few guns that sounded crappy

Changes the distant shots to more realistic cracks and booms.

An update has also added delay to distant shots. No more looking at far away snipers and wondering why you can hear their shots instantly.

Many thanks for the reply, indeed id say its the source engine limit for sound design capibilities. Yes, i would really appreciate if you could do that! :D

About the third person and distant shots, the sound engine handles the sounds in a way where the third person sound will be played until a significant distance is reached, where it plays the distant noises. This means you will simply hear third person sounds for a long way at decreasing volumes until you hear the distant noise. Nothing I can do about that, sorry. For the delays though, I could probably release a no delay version for this and the higher pitched version of this mod.

For example at a ceratin distance, you can hear both third person shots and distant shots, which doesnt sound right

Hey bro, is there a way to remove the delay? Its a very good idea but unfornately i dont find that it transitions well in the game.

Just one small detail, its 447820, not 448720

That's actually extremely helpful. Thank you for letting me know!

@Flammable:

I know one sure-fire way to fix whatever static or screeching sounds:

Simply navigate to the folder called Steamapps\workshop\content\448720 and do a search for "vpk.sound.cache". Windows' File Explorer will then display a list of all files ending with "vpk.sound.cache". Select all of these files and delete them. Done! :steamhappy:

When the DOI game is restarted, these sound cache files will be automatically regenerated with the sound issues gone, until the next time they return. I have done snd_restart and unsubbing/re-subbing but this doesn't seem to work.

it's a common issue with mods for day of infamy and insurgency. Usually the issue resolves itself. Try snd_restart and re-subscribing.
