Beschreibung
This extremely simple mod increases the rate of orbital deposits simply by reducing the chances of null deposits. Less chance of no deposit means increased chance of everything else to be there, but the balance of what that something is stays the same. It does this by overwriting d_null_deposit with custom weights.

The exact change is the weight of null deposits was cut from 100 to 10.

The effect of this is that the majority of worlds and asteroids now have at least something on them, increasing the value of empty systems. This has far reaching implications on gameplay - from my one test game played using these new rules, the AI's economies are stronger and a wide approach is much less penalizing on research (since you now have more research in space). It also slows down actual expansion for you and the AI, since you have more minerals to invest in orbital stations before moving on, and increases the risk of damage from pirate attacks due to the extra stations. There are also far fewer dead systems with nothing but 2 energy in them, so it doesn't feel so painful to shore up your borders.

Note that this also increases the occurence of strategic resources, since they're in the same pool as the other resources. They're still not all over the place since the chance of getting them vs getting other deposits is the same, but you will see a few more scattered about simply because there is more of everything.

Update for 2.2.2: Adjusted weight of null deposits in new system to be 1/10th as common, like how this mod worked in the prior version.

Does this mod still work for the current version of the game?

If so, does it require a new game start? I installed the mod but I don't see any extra resources.

Has stopped working with 2.7. Doesn't stop the game working, just no result.
