Description
Currently there are 28 P250 finishes ingame. This is the largest number for ANY weapon.

After the P250 ‘see you later’ was accepted I assumed this to be a not-so-cryptic clue that there wouldn't be new finishes for this weapon for some time. But I still wanted to make one as my long-time trusty five seven had recently been nerfed to oblivion making the P250 my new favourite secondary outside the pistol round.

To me this meant that any new design would absolutely need to be extremely special to warrant a look-in, so I looked to fine art for inspiration. This lead me to the ‘Gold digger’ idea.

My two favourite fine artists are Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt. The former had a penchant for depicting the feminine form in nature using an outlined illustrative style, with the latter often featuring portraits with rich and luxurious gold texture montages laden with symbolism.

The idea was to show a high-society women (the alleged ‘Gold digger’) glancing at the user with a suggestive look. Gold is extra relevant because there currently are no yellow-hued P250s; incidentally, as the user owns and uses a gold P250, they in turn could also be deemed a ‘Gold digger’ - hence the name is doubly relevant!

I often have lofty ideas that fail at the execution stage - in real life I suck at fine art but rock with vectors. As such I drew the hair and head linework in a loose thick-outline Mucca-esque style, and then incorporated elements inspired by Klimt’s montages to propagate the surface area. To really push the thick textures I added a normal map, and to make the weapon gold I went with the gunsmith finish to achieve a high light-exponent effect.

This has taken me a very long time to put together for a multitude of reasons. But I loved the idea behind this and wanted to see it through to fruition. It's been hard to let go of!
