What I did was a very major refit of the ship to eliminate its reliance on hydrogen and make it more closely resemble the lines of the Mk II. I also added some additional weapons hardpoints and improved fields of fire for some of the existing ones. This was done initially to accommodate modded weapons which were only a single block high, but when restoring it to a vanilla configuration some of the barbettes were left to prevent the turrets from shooting each other.

Other alterations: additional side thrusters were installed in order to enhance maneuvering, and lots of other little things throughout.

Mod-ready: this ship has sufficient space and reactor power to accommodate a large number of mods that enhance its performance. The center of the rear engine cluster has conveyor hardpoints immediately under the catwalk plates, should you have any 1x1 modded weapons in your world.

The ship is already set up for the jump drives mod, but it is in no way required, so just ignore the warning when pasting. They're only there to give some additional range above and beyond the two vanilla jump drives already onboard, and you won't notice they're gone if you don't have them. For the Energy Shields mod, remove the refinery as well as one layer of the floor below it to give you the necessary room.

well the ship i captured in game is labelled "cerberus MK III" so????

Unless something changed, the version in the game is JD Horx's original Cerberus Mk II. This is just my refit of his Mk III. I honestly consider the Mk II a better combat ship, although the Mk III is more spacious inside.
