Chimera Admin Tools

Description
MOD ID: 1340725036
Version: 1.9.1

STATUS
Please see change notes for details.

Overview
This mod contains a collection of admin-only tools, structures and items, designed to assist admins with establishing and monitoring/protecting community spaces, events and PvE oriented players/tribes on PvP servers.

Getting Started
It's recommeded that you disable the associated engrams to prevent players from learning them. Add the following to your Game.ini

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode] OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_ChimeraPvPForcefield_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=0,EngramLevelRequirement=0,RemoveEngramPreReq=False) OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_ChimeraWirelessGenerator_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=0,EngramLevelRequirement=0,RemoveEngramPreReq=False) OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_ChimeraConsumeable_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=0,EngramLevelRequirement=0,RemoveEngramPreReq=False) OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_ChimeraIsland_C",EngramHidden=True,EngramPointsCost=0,EngramLevelRequirement=0,RemoveEngramPreReq=False)

STRUCTURES & ITEMS

Chimera Soup: This special consumable will unlock the requisite engrams for the structures/items contained in this mod, without having admins resorting to using the giveengrams cheat (and likely ruining their progression). Admins: spawn and consume this soup before spawning in any additional items.

While it's possible to give this item to non-admin players to consume, only admins with cheat privileges will be able to learn the engrams. Non-admins will experience a... shockingly different result. Fair warning given.

Chimera Forcefield. This is a modified version of the Tek Forcefield, intended to provide PvE players with some level of protection while playing on a largely PvP server. Repel enemies and buff structures within the shield, making them impervious to damage. Likewise, dinos and players within the shield are protected, but are NOT buffed in any way.

cheat gfi ChimeraPvPForcefield 1 0 0
This forcefield is smaller (fits on 1 foundation,) quieter (activated sound effect is greatly reduced,) and less distracting (the light beam has been removed, and the shield's visibility has been greatly reduced). Admins may also hide the shield altogether. Only useable by admins, who must force-add themselves into a tribe to activate the structure.

Options. Add this to your gameusersettings.ini:

[ChimeraAdmin] ActiveShieldOpacity=0.0125 ShieldRadiusScale=200.00

Command Line (admins only)
cheat ScriptCommand TogglePvPShie1ds (0 or 1) cheat ScriptCommand TogglePvPShie1ds 1 0 (use 0-2 for damage types) cheat ScriptCommand SetPvPShie1dSize 0 (use 0-2 for minimum, medium, maximum) cheat ScriptCommand DestroyPvPShie1ds

Shield Damage Settings:

  1. No Damage (default): Like the vanilla structure, enemy players are simply repelled without harm.
  2. Non-lethal: Enemy players are repelled; however, a small amount of damage is inflicted as a warning, and a high amount of torpor is applied. This is typically enough to knock-out a player and any low-level mounts. This should be warning enough for any overly-aggressive player or griefer to break off their attack. This should not affect wild dinos (still testing).
  3. Lethal: A high amount of damage and torpor is inflicted on enemy players, which typically kills them and their mounts. Admins may use this to protect both PvE and PvP players and tribes from repeated attacks while they are rebuilding (useful on highly aggressive PvP servers).

Chimera Wireless Generator
Intended as a means to power any electrical structure during events. For the moment, this structure can be activated by any owner or tribe member. Additional admin-only security (beyond the Engram requirements) is being implemented.

cheat gfi ChimeraWirelessGenerator 1 0 0

NEW: Chimera Sentry
A simple way for players to keep track of who visits their base; notifies tribe-members, adds an entry to the Tribe Log when a non-tribe member enters their base location.

NEW: Chimera Hidden Cache
A geo cache that's only visible to the player who placed it; iundestructable. Useful for admins during events to keep prizes like eggs and other perishables on ice, as well as anything else that can go into an inventory.

Chimera Buff Costumes
These are a set of purpose-designed costumes that buff dinos (use in available costume slots).

Particularly portable, these costumes make average dinos useful or "Admin Dinos", e.g. Admin Argent. Stats can be configured via gameusersettings.ini.

  1. Melee Boost Costume. A dino costime that buffs melee, health, and stamina. RAWR!
  2. Speed Boost Costume. A dino costime that buffs speed and stamina. ZOOM ZOOM! (Use this in place of Classic Flyers for that needed speed upgrade).
  3. Strength Boost Costume. A dino costime that buffs weight and stamina. WELCOME TO THE GUNS SHOW!
  4. Uber Stat Boost Costume. A dino costime that buffs all stats. DROP THE HAMMER!

Melee Boost Costume:

Speed Boost Costume:

Chimera Island Base
This new structure can be placed anywhere in the map, including open air, and can serve as buildable ground for an admin base or meeting space. This structure must be spawned in.

Note: Be sure to add this structure's blueprint path to your list of blocked engrams (see example above).

cheat gfi ChimeraIsland 1 0 0

Features include:
  1. Tribe Limits Tribes will be limited to three islands per tribe. This will be configurable in the gameusersettings.ini a future release.
  2. Security Ability to toggle anti-personnel shield (currently applies to players and dinos)
  3. Security Options Ability to change the type of damage inflicted on trespassers: None, Non-lethal, Lethal (default).
  4. Structure Buffs Admin Only. The Security Options now come with the ability for admins to apply a structure buff on anything built upon the island. This is useful for community areas, acting as a neutral gathering place on PvP servers.
  5. Foliage Control (Coming soon)

Additional items are planned forthcoming.

Aknowledgements
  1. Thanks to the good folks over at Ark Modding on Discord[discord.arkmodding.net]. I'd have spent far longer learning ADK/UE4 without their guideance.

@fideidar This is currently in the works; there'll be a crafting structure for both admins and normal players with configurable crafting costs. At the moment there are only two islands--the largest is typically intended for community centers, and a smaller island for players.

can we get an medium or large island for single players who want to use this as an perminant base? or a way to adjust the size?

cant even edit the .ini if the server is up
undefinedvariableprofilename  [author] 5 Jan, 2020 @ 4:41pm
@Noel Shut your server down before you edit the *.ini file or the game overwrites your changes with it's current state. After you've shut your server down, make the changes, then restart it.

If I have a chimera shield set to protect a pvp-prohibited zone will the shield allow allies of its owner in and protect them from damage as well?
