DFC Omega Siege Satellite (Modded)

During the war with the Imperium, it was proven that patrol ships were not always enough to protect important infrastructure, and drew those vessels away from critical missions. A seiries of satellite defenses was comissioned, and the Omega class was the largest.

Litterally a big gun in space, it utilizes all the DFC weapons engineers had learned up to that point to create a weapon so large it is impractical to mount on ships, and virtually impossible to utilize in a gravity well. When the first successful version was deployed, it crippled its target in one shot, from such a range that the Imperium didn't quite realize what was going on until the third round had hit home. The battle was ultimately lost to their overwhelming numbers, but It proved the danger this weapon was to capital ships. In following engagements where an Omega satellite was present, the Imperium either sent Dreadfighters on ahead, or kept at speed to avoid being picked off, reducing the effective range considerably, but artilary ships were not safe, and even a dreadnought's hull was not imune.
