Meta AI Education for Vanilla by BLKCandy

Description
Because I hate it when I found an AI wasted a character with awesome traits with horrible education planing. Player have this big advantage just by planning education for their courtiers. You could have a court full of brilliant strategist commanders while AI struggle to get a skilled tactician.

This mod add new events to set focus and proper guardian for all children. The selection AI use "meta education plan" prefering guardian with intervention traits and select guardian with high level education at age 12+. The AI will also choose 'heritage' and 'faith' focus for children of different culture and religion from the top liege.

This apply to all children in the game, including yours and your wards. To manually manage a child, use right click on the child you want to manage and use 'Toggle Manual Education' to diasble the mod for the child. To manually manage all children of a character or yourself, use targetted decision (right click) on the character and use 'Toggle Manual Children Education' To exclude a character from guardian pool, use 'Toggle Manual Guardian'

Generally, all AI should produce better educated characters, much better. Children converted to the top liege culture and religion. Larger and older realms are better at educating their children as they have more and better guardians to select from. There should be LV4 character everywhere after a few generations.

The mod does not create any pop up or notification. The only way to see if it work or not is to look at the children in your realm (or others) and their guardians. The mod might seems to be unreliable early on due to the insufficient proper guardian. It will get better as the world become more educated.

If you think the mod need tweak or there is something weird, tell me about it in the comment. I play CK2+ with many, many mods. My game does not accurately reflect the actual experience with just vanilla or other mod.

This mod is based on my CK2+ version here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1352691368 The vanilla version is less tested since I'm mostly on CK2+, but it should be more compatible with other mods than the CK2+ version.

The mod works as follows:

============================================

Childhood Focus:
AI will automatically pick childhood focus for 5+ years olds.

AI will automatically pick culture/religion focus for all children with different culture/religion from the top liege. Automatically pick conscientious for genius children, and thrift for the rest, because thrift is a pretty safe childhood focus with many good traits.

============================================

Childhood Guardian
AI will try to pick a guardian of the top liege culture and religion with good intervention trait (diligent, brave, gregarious, kind) and NO LV4 education (need them for higher education child) at 5+ years old. Or just any guardian with the culture and religion if there is no good intervention trait.

============================================

Education Focus:
AI will choose education focus when the child is 12 or older. The focus selection is based on scoring system checking the children traits and attributes to determine the child suitability to specific focus. It has a modifier block to adjust base score modifier in the event file. You can adjust it if you feel it the focus distribution is imbalanced.

============================================

Education Guardian:
AI will pick a new education guardian for a child without guardian or without the 'Auto Educator Set' modifier (Children which this mod already assigned a guardian once).

The AI will prioritize a guardian with LV4 education and multiple intervention traits (diligent, brave, gregarious, kind), then to LV4 guardian with one intervention trait, then to random LV4 educator, then to level 3 educator.

============================================

The mod file is BEDUVANILLA.zip. The only file you need to edit is the event file. It is very small and should be easy to modify to fit your style of 'meta education', so feel free to edit it.

Even when I disable every meta AI option and set my own guardian, the meta Ai is still controlling who educated and guardians my children. Essentially the mod is busted.

@ everyone saying RIP mod - as far as I can tell this still works - what issues have you been experiencing?

You have created a great mod. Would it be possible to slightly increase the likelihood that tribal societies will focus on the beginning of their teaching in administration and struggle? Maybe I could apply this also to different cultures, giving them a little more personality.

Congratulations on your mod, it's very good.

It was fun while it lasted.
No other automated education mods, either. :/

Is this for conclave education?

Do you know if this mod significantly affects performance? I tried starting a new game after using it and it lagged a lot. There were many other mods installed, but I've used most of them before, and this mod seemed like it might be heavy on events and checks, which would hurt performance. It'd be quite disappointing as I like the idea of making the AI educate better so other characters can be better, and also being able to use it to take away the tedious work of educating my own children. But if this mod was the cause of the lag, then it's far too much to be worth it.

Interesting and awesome mod idea! Is this updated or dead? v3+ compatibility?

any chance you could make a mod which blends the passing on of stats from educators like it is in the base game with the conclave education system? i like the ability to direct education in the conclave dlc but my genius children are worse off for lacking the ability to gain more stats from their quality educators stats. plus im not really a fan of the whole nature vs nurture aspect of conclave stats.
