Weapons Overhaul For Max Fun

Description
Overall Idea.
>Making weapons matter more, reducing my guy has good stats he will do good with any weapon thinking.
>Making you think about what kind of weapons the enemy is carrying and how to confront them.
>Making you think about what kind of race the enemy is and using appropriate weapons.
>Making strategic positioning important, enabling denial of area strategies, >making creating ambushes a viable approach

Design philosophy:(Why i did what)
If a weapon is very short- easier to attack, very hard to defend.
If a wepon is a medium length -(20-26 range) attack and defence values depend on weapon type and plausible physics of the weapon . longer and shorter weapons kind of multiply different aspects of these basic values
If a weapon is longer - easier to attack - harder to defend.

Crossbows have already been overhauled in another mod by me, i might merge these mods later,(feedback??)

Version 1 Ninja Blades

Pradigm: Ninja blades now play a specific role. Fast killers of lightly armed enemies, or indoors fights. Not intended for prolonged battles when outnumbered.

Changes:
Major changes:
4 Types of Ninja Blades.
- Ninja Blade - the base version 20 length.
- Ninja Blade Slasher - Sturdier,Thicker, Longer, more defense and open battle oriented
- Ninja Blade Assassin - Shortdagger style ninja blade, brilliantly excels indoors and when you can close the distance.Sucks in defence.
- Ninja Blade Sepheroth- Very long, Very thin Weapon, designed to cut lightly armoured enemies to peaces before they can react. Not good for defence. Great for area denial and abushes

Weapon guard stances also changed to more realistically reflect how a weapon of that size might be held

Minor changes: Lots of stat changes, material costs, inventory sizes, prices, almost everything has been changed to follow a paradigm all weapons will use.
- They Suck agasint hard surfaces due to lighter more flexible blades
-- Robots, Shek, Skeletons etc.
-- Not good animal hunting weapons.

FUTURE CHANGES
Changes and variants for all weapons planned.

Since people don't exactly surrender in Kenshi, mounted combat is not a thing. and weapon penetration is abstract at best, any discussion of a spear's use IRL is kind of moot.

Actually from a gameplay perspective, a change to make spears being good at defense/so-so at attack may be a good idea since daggers already cover the good attack/bad defense slot. It's also a bit more intuitive, since reach only doesn't really give you any defensive advantage in Kenshi, and typically the two are associated.

Wouldn't be opposed to it if they dev wanted to go that way. I just don't think making spears better at everything isn't actually very realistic and not at all fun. If so this would be the "Spears are OP" mod. A game where there's no reason to use the majority of other weapons would be boring.

Lances are a mounted weapon? Most knights were on horses but they wouldn't run around with a lance while they were off it lol. That's not even a true if you switched out lance with spear.

Polearms are only really good defensively if you can keep someone away from you, much harder to do without a line of other spearmen. If someone with a sword is wearing good enough armor to just run at you and get inside your spear's range, there's not much you can do to stop them from swiftly murdering you (except maybe drawing a weapon that's not a spear). Spears were extremely common and popular in the middle ages, but there were definitely people using swords them, even if they had an intact polearm.

In a game like Kenshi with relatively small scale combat, I think it makes sense for spears to have a defensive weakness, with swords being versatile like they are in real life. Polearms meanwhile still maintain their reach as a stat which happens to be their advantage in real life.

in real life spears are better at attacking and defending than a shortsword is.

That's why medieval knights only used their swords once they broke their lance.

i am just not sure how to keep up with the changes the main dev team is making, i think ill have to wait a little and let the game sizzle a bit

Im enjoying the ninja weapons and only have issue with the dagger. i feel that should have some extra stats to indoor and stealth play. i am hoping this mod is still active because it instantly became a must have for me and im hoping for more weapon alterations *pole arms and heavy*

Tbh since there are no shields in this game (for whatever reason. I mean it's not like the samurai from ancient Japan didn't have them lol) i tend to give my front defensive guys heavier thicker blades like horse choppers and holed sabres, while my second row often uses longer blades like dai-katanas (are they even in the game lol?) or naginatas for actual attack or defense agains t flanking attacks. Too bad the naginatas are too long to be used in conjunction with crossbow wielders (which i use your other mod for) or i would have used them as backup weapons. But i guess the katana or a club is good enough.
