About
If you need a sign for your sleazy roadside motel, this is the one.
The prop template is the vanilla crate. Please enjoy, and please let me know if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

Actually, I'll do you one better for those of you who want a custom message on your sign
You'll have to create it yourself - but it's actually not that difficult.
Go to this link here[drive.google.com] and copy all files to your desktop. There should be 15 of them. These are the source files. You'll see Motel Sign_d.png and Motel Sign_dNoWords.png.

Motel Sign_d.png is the one the game recognizes. If you want to add a custom message to your sign, we'll need to overwrite it. So, take the NoWords image into an image editor, like Gimp or Photoshop, and type out what you want in a typeface of your choosing, using your application's type tool - - (but type it in the area that I've typed mine in the Motel Sign_d file). I've outlined the typing area with a white box in the NoWords image. The _d files are the 'colour' maps for this prop - but leave the _lod_d file alone for this.

I used Impact as a typeface in the base asset, which is widely available. But you can use any sans-serif font, like Helvetica or Arial, if you like.

Then, once you're happy, overwrite Motel Sign_d.png - and move it and all the rest of the files into your skylines import folder. You can delete the NoWords image afterward, it's just there as a blank template for people who want to do this - but make sure you still have a Motel Sign_d.png.

Google the import folder's location if you're unsure where it is on your system. There should be two .fbx files and 12 .pngs. They're all needed. File names are important when making a custom asset. If your custom file isn't named Motel Sign_d.png - or if it's named properly and it's not a .png file, this won't work.

Then go into the asset editor and select a prop template - Like I said, I just used the crates as the template, which are in the environment props tab in the asset edior. Then choose the roadside motel sign model with your custom _d file.

Hope it worked!

I'm sure 90 percent of you are rolling your eyes at me - but man, there's nothing like having something you want that's really custom show up in game for you correctly for the first time. IMO. This is what PC gaming is all about, amiright? I mean, aside from aimbots and malware.

Thanks again.
