Also may want to have a better indicator on what to do in the maintanace room. Like.. I dunno a mechanism that looks jammed and blowing up the boxes will make the mechanism work. I saw the pit with the boxes but given I saw a glowing red light my instinct was to shoot at it or checked the smaller room behind me for a switch that would make that light change colour or something.
When it comes to making puzzles you don't need to put it in the players face but forms of indication helps. To encourage the players common sense is important for puzzle making.
