Nethermancer Class (v.5568)

Description
Adds the Nethermancer class, a dark caster that deals in warping space, spreading disease, and fighting in melee courtesy of the nether's tendency to sprout tentacles everywhere.

This class is intended to be roughly as powerful as the base classes, although I'll be the first to admit it's a little on the strong side, and I hear that it somehow becomes hilariously OP in Synergies. Barring some unlikely series of events, this is the final version of the mod, flaws and bugs and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ placeholder art and all. Speaking of which, all of the skill icons are just hue-shifted versions of Rift/LoL/Dota icons, so credit to those guys for the originals.

Be aware that this mod has a known issue of crashing during zone changes in multiplayer, so if you mainly play multiplayer, this might not be the class for you.

Charge Bar
The nether's gifts are fickle, granting great power but forever threatening to drive their wielder insane. Low levels of charge amplify magical abilities, increasing cast speed and vastly reducing mana costs. These bonuses fade away as charge increases, gradually replacing lucidity with insanity, and transforming those bonuses into attack speed and damage reduction. A few skills cost charge instead of mana, channeling this corrupted influence to heal you or unleash exceptionally powerful attacks. Both sides of the charge bar have unique strengths and weaknesses, so care is required to maintain the state best suited to your build.

Eldritch Skills
Warp space into more convenient shapes, lock your foes in place, and bombard them with countless frigid shadow bolts. These nethermancers excel at dealing heavy ranged damage, mobility, and crowd control, as well as general buffs to their spellcasting capabilities. If you're looking for the closest thing to a standard mage, you'll find it here.

Plague Skills
Call forth the nether's pests and plagues, decrepify your foes with myriad ailments, and leave them to your netherling swarm. If Eldritch is a mage, then Plague is a necromancer, trading sheer power for summoned pets and insidious debuffs. This tree also houses several skills dealing with the "side effect" debuffs of all four elements.

Flesh Skills
Submit to your corruption, twist your body into a living weapon, and tear your foes apart by hand. The closest thing to a Flesh nethermancer would be a Berserker, except with tentacles instead of spooky wolf ghosts. This tree contains many melee and defensive skills, as well as abilities to spend charge in exchange for health or damage.

Other Stuff
-Nethermancers are technically a ranged class and have no innate damage reduction. Full charge makes us slightly more durable than the melee classes, but also doubles all mana costs.
-We have no special items, instead you're allowed to equip both Berserker and Embermage gear.
-We get a lot of value out of Vitality, so be careful about other mods that buff Vitality.
-Yes, I know we're unkillable in Synergies. I don't know why, I don't play Synergies. I blame Vitality.
-Chronosphere is not bugged, an 8-second AoE stun needs a downside. Read the tier bonuses.

So does this class use Embermage uniques?

@bean The best way to build a nethermancer for melee combat is to pick up the flesh skills but don't really use anything except the armor and dna skills in your right click passives are the regeneration, and plauge passives as they give you a nasty leg up on most enemies (I pick up the dna first then get the regen then the toxin) weapons is really your choice but i find that dual fist and any two handed weapon work great for the build. Anything really goes for a class like this but don't be afraid to pick up the skill to pull you twords enemies as a means to get in there faces. Bone Armor is a must mid game as it essentally gives you a massive defense boost and combined with the dna buff maxed out you will die very rarely (got a mod called greed's lair and its a lvl 15-20 area head in there with my lvl 3 and comes out with too much gear for me to carry)

I'm trying to figure out how to build a melee nethermancer. I'm really struggling early on, since I just use tentacle lash until I run out of mana. nether assault doesn't feel very synergistic since it knocks enemies away from the aoe.

Wow! Seeing this mod is tempting me to reinstall the game just to try it!

Hadnt played this in a long time so figured I would have a look at what was new (appreciate this isnt a new mod!). I have to say amazing job @Haette - this class is incredibly professionally made and wouldnt have looked out of place in the base game. Seems quite powerful due to the very early game passive hp regen, but having a blast with it. Many thanks!

So is the class still not viable for multiplayer? Fusion of Flesh is kind of rudimentary for a caster build to keep your charge low, so I doubt you'd be able to run without it just to avoid crashing

Nice mod! One thing: I think if you could somehow make the Fusion Of Flesh skill reset on when loading a new area, I think it would fix the multiplayer crash issue.
