Description
This is a dummy file for steam workshop. It does not have to be activated for Reshade/my preset to work. However, I appreciate the subscribes/faves for visibility. Preset Download[drive.google.com]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good -insert relevant time of day- all,

--------------------------
EDIT: The installation instructions previously advised you to select OpenGL when installing, this seems to no longer work with Attila. Instead, please now select the appropriate DirectX. --- Thank you Tato492
--------------------------

This is an Attila Reshade Preset I made to work with Reshade by crosire. I made this while using Aztecs 2015 Graphics mod (it adds beautiful lighting scenes). Steam Workshop limits image sizes so if you want to see the same images in better quality(2560x1440p) please see this Album[imgur.com].

--------------------------
What it does:
--------------------------
It adds FakeHDR, ambient light, clarity (most obvious on the towers in the last image) and recolours Attila for a better feel. This isn't a massive cinematic blurred out visual mod. It is a simple colour/ambient light reshade with added clarity without mad use of a sharpen tool.

While the mad gaussian blur and DOF efffects are cool, they aren't really enjoyable to play with. You can set hotkeys to toggle stuff: I have Shift+F5 to toggle Reshade effects on/off. I have Shift+F6 to toggle this tiltshift blur/vignette for screenshots. However please see the pictures (other than the title) without either to compare.

--------------------------
How to install the preset:
--------------------------
Please download the preset here from my google drive[drive.google.com]. Drop it into your main Attila Directory (Steam/steamapps/common/Total War Attila) where your Attila.exe is.

--------------------------
How to install Reshade:
--------------------------
  • Please download Reshade installer here[reshade.me]
  • Run the installer and target Attila.exe in Steam/steamapps/common/Total War Attila.
  • Select Direct 10/11/12
  • Download the AmbientLight, Clarity, Emphasize, FakeHDR, Tiltshift, Vibrance and Vignette shaders. (You can download others for you to play with but these are the ones used in my preset).
  • Start the game, Reshade will load (taking time depending on how many extra shaders you chose to download.
  • It will give you a little tutorial, then you just select my preset from the drop down box.
  • You can now put Reshade in Performance mode in the Settings tab.
  • Optional: Add shortcuts for Vignette and Tiltshift for use when taking screenshots(preferably on the same key), I use Shift+F6. I use Shift+F5 for toggling all effects.

--------------------------
Required mods:
--------------------------
Aztecs 2015 Graphics mod adds 50 lighting scenes, for the same effect I suggest you use it.
I also suggest you use the Brighter Weapon Textures mod as it much improves visuals, especially with the clarity shader I used.

--------------------------
Reasons for using Reshade:
--------------------------
While GEM is fantastic, it doesn't allow for configuration on the fly. Ganossa has gone on to work on the Reshade framework. Which is what I used here. You can play around with my preset in configuration mode and if you download other shaders (than the ones I used) you can do stuff yourself.

Cheers,
Wolf.

@Frog, no I don't think Reshade has any compatibility issues with regular mods.

As explained above i made it while using Aztecs 2015 graphics mod, so i suppose it might not ideally fit a different lighting mod. But it would still work.

Just don't try to use it with GEM, which is doing a similar thing.

@kingcoat97 the main total war attila folder, go to C>program filesx86>steam>steamapps>common>total war attila. you'll know it's the right folder cuz there will be an .exe file that launches the game in the folder

Reshade perfectly works with attila. Only select Direct 10/11/12 instead opengl, I don´t know why select this one.

Anyone have Reshade not launch with the game? I've successfully used reshade on witcher 3 and three kingdoms total war, but with Attila it doesn't launch with the game.
