Commands note:
It was some hard times leading up to the development of this ship: SS was pressuring the republic with ships Excalibur and Thyr, resources were running low, and docterine required even heavier craft to fufill the roles that cruisers proved weren't enough. There were many plans drafted and most were scraped because of strict requirements to defeat the opposition while obviously keeping the cost down and to perform its duties in full. This project was chosen as it had promise with firepower and great survivability within the price bracet, though the latter was dropped due to modernisations but performance and mobility increased as a result. 'Red Sun' named after the assult of fort Black moon became the first "modern" battleship of the nation that was massively successful. The ship was designed as a counter to the large SS fleets as it can go one to one with excalibur reliably, the personal flagship to the highest rank of admirals, and is the most representative of the strengths and flaws of the navy (that being tempered but brittle). The ship class recieved a personalized crest of "The Northern Keeper" and the ship defenses eminates an aura said to be the crew's will in combat. The reason why such a prized ship is being permitted to the public is because it is to show the nation's strength, and because the national minister lost a bet to the forgin minister over whether the surrounding minor nations could support themselves against anything other than pirates.
