Realism Plus

Description
Mod ID 1379111008

This is a hard difficulty stackable mod that tries to lift the level of realism in Ark Survival. The major themes are:

1) Strong emphasis on land-based exploration and build. Flyers are a mid to late game aspect. Choose your base locations, exploration style and strategy with care.
2) Dinosaurs that are completely the wrong size have been corrected.
3) Various quality of life additions focused on PvE/cooperative players.

LAND DINOSAURS
■ Carnivores listed below now cease being aggressive once they've killed something. They will become hungry again after 2 to 3 minutes.
■ Tyrannosaurus, Gigantosaurus, Allosaurus, Yutryannus can now damage ALL structures, including stone and metal... there is now a definite reason to upgrade to stone and above, and use spiked walls.
■ Allosaurus. Has been sized historically correct with normalized health and damage potential. Still has pack buff potential.
■ Carnotaurus now moves a lot faster. Almost as fast as a Utahraptor, they are now lethal to people foolish enough to be near them on foot.
■ Giganontosaurus. is sized historically correct (slightly less powerful than a rex, but tougher and faster). It roams grasslands. Taming mechanism is the same as tyrannosaurus.
■ Tyrannosaurus and bull variants now do an area of effect slow with their roars. Bull tyrannosaurs roar more frequently and with a greater range, have a 10% chance to do a 5% health bleed and drop high quality loot.
■ Megalosaurus. Roams mountain areas in addition to redwoods, no more nocturnal wierdness, howling or prey grabbing. Is similar in strength and power to an allosaurus.
■ Brontosaurus, Yutyrannus, Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus are sized historically correct.
■ Arthraoplura has had its corrosive spit reduced by 90%... it will still damage armor and shields but instead of wrecking them in 1 spit, it will take 10 spits.
■ Diplodocus no longer irritates players with it's nuzzling mechanic and otherwise acts like other sauropods, and uses a foot-stomp attack to deal with predators.
■ Stegosaurus is sized historically correct. amd its tail swipe attack is a lot more deadlier.
■ Troodens have been replaced with Saurornithoides. Identical in every way to Troodon but no longer have the crazy tranquilising ability.
■ Pegomastix is now a herbivore and no longer steals
■ Tricerotops has its health increased to be more consistant with it's actual size. It is now a formidable tank even for the late game.
■ Therizinosaurus has a slightly reduced aggro range, and stops chasing people a lot sooner if they were only aggro'ed through proximity (if you hit them they will still be angry with you)
■ Parasaurlophus is sized historically correct. It moves faster and now provides 40% weight reduction to all resources and can now be considered a viable transport dinosaur.
■ Added Argentinasaurus, a re-sized titanosaur which is similar but somewhat tougher than a Brontosaurus and not tame-able. They wander the grasslands.
■ Re-worked alphas. Bull Carnotaurus, Bull Tyrannosaurus and Alpha Utahraptor. They are not overpowered like vanilla versions, but are definitely tougher and do more damage than regular specimens. They cannot be tamed. You will need to configure your client/server to get rid of the glowy vanilla alphas.
■ There are now 2 raptors: Valdoraptor (the scaly raptor) and Utahraptor (the featherd on). These replace "Raptor" and "Deinonychus".

SEA DINOSAURS
■ Megalodon sized historically correct. It is also 40% tougher and can no longer be tamed or ridden or wear helmets with frikken laser beams attached to their heads. Cannot be stunned by Baryonx.
■ Cnidaria now moves at 25% of its normal speed - as a jellyfish should
■ Electrophorus only aggros if very close to it, and it does not aggro nearby Electrophorus. No longer tame-able.
■ Mosasaurus and Lioplurodon have been sized historically correct,Mosa is non-tameable
■ Ichthyosaurus as been sized historically correct
■ Leedsichthys has been re-sized correctly, and now occasionally ignores rafts or stops attacking them.

AIR DINOSAURS
■ ALL flyers in Ark are no longer ride-able, with the exception of Quetz, Argantavis, Wyverns and Drakes. I recommend disabling Griffons altogether.
■ Argentavis can no longer carry vast amounts of resources, but can carry a human for medium distances.
■ Quetz now moves about 20% faster than Argentavis, and is optimized for carrying metal/crystal/obsidan (5x more efficient). This is now the premium end-game flying mount that replaces Argentavis.
■ Ichthyornis has been removed from the Thieves Guild and is no longer a master thief beach bird. It has been resized to be historically accurate and now flees when attacked.
■ Pteradon and Tapejara have been resized to be historically accurate, whilst Lymantria has been shrunk to be much smaller. They are all no tameable.
■ Fire Wyvern renamed as Fire Drake, and they now consume 75% less stamina with their breath weapon

STRUCTURES
■ Industrial Forge Mk II
----- costs 0 points after the main Industrial Forge is learned, and is crafted in a Fabricator.
----- provides 5 element when the following is forged in it: 3 squid trophy, 1 yutyrannus trophy, 1 deathworm horn, 10 black pearls.
---- converts Element into Unstable Element, which can be transferred between servers using Obelisks and Beacons. The Unstable Element can be converted back into Element on the other Ark.
■ Artisan Table
-----L34 req, which can be made by player crafting.
--- allows the crafting of blue and green gems (requires crystals, and angler gel/titanboa venom for different types).
--- allows the crafting of Climbing Picks and all skeleton bone costumes for dinosaurs
--- allows certain artifacts to be converted into different types.

ITEMS
■ Climbing Pick without map restrictions (L34 req). Crafted in the Artisan Table, and no longer requires fungal wood (compatible with any map).
■ Glowsticks without map restrictions (L30 req). They require oil, angler gel and crystal.
■ All bone skeleton costumes for dinosaurs can be crafted in the Artisan table
■ Craftable artifacts. The unrealistic puzzle cave of Ragnarok no longer needs to be suffered... you can now craft the artifacts required to summon bosses by converting other artifacts into them.
--- Artifact of the Devourier + 5 argentavis feet -> Artifact of the Skylord
--- Artifact of the Hunter + 1 allosaurus brain -> Artifact of the Devious
--- Artifact of the Pack + 5 megalodon teeth -> Artifact of the Missive
--- Artifact of the Brute + 1 thylacoleo claw -> Artifact of the Clever

OTHER
■ Changed quality names Common=Primitive, Uncommon=Ramshackle, Rare=Apprentice, Epic=Journeyman, Mastercraft=Mastercraft, Legendary=Ascendant. Changed Legendary color from teal to light orange because teal is such a bad color choice.
■ All surface supply drops for vanilla (Island and similar maps) and Scorched Earth have been removed - but cave drops still exist.
■ The XP/Level ramp has been optimized to be far more smoother, extending the early to middle game whilst unlocking the late game earlier and more progressively. To help smaller/average tribes, the XP requirements to unlock beta/alpha bosses and TEK gear is no longer requires massive amounts of grinding to get to 100.
■ The admin star symbol no longer appears above characters or in chat when enabled by admins. So player admins can do their duties without having to feel bad about other players thinking they are cheating.

Interested in this mod but why did you cap the level at 30?

Base game pre-unlock is 105.

I can't even make a toilet.

Hey guys, I haven't played Ark in 2 years and it hasn't been recompiled in the devkit since Oct 2023. I have no idea if it works, and as for Ark Ascended... the only way to know is to try but somehow I doubt it.

They use all the same animations as vanilla dinosaurs... they are just scaled smaller (or bigger)

Do the dinosaurs do animations like sleeping or drinking water?
