Simplified recipes.

What better to serve as a companion to my Master Sword Mod than an awesome, fully integrated Hylian Shield?
There are of course secrets in this mod, so if you don't want them spoiled, just go to Yngvild first and Valthume when you want an even better shield. It will not be easy.
Or, alternately, go to Labyrinthian and look very carefully near a troll and/or a wispmother. Hint, hint. ;)

Now then, spoilers and hints!


Go to Yngvild and find the schematic for the shield lying on the ground next to a table near the end of the dungeon.
With this schematic, you can now craft a Hylian Shield.
Go to the Skyforge.

For the heavy Hylian Shield, you will need:
The schematic from Yngvild in your inventory
The Elven Smithing Perk
1 firewood
1 gold ingot
3 steel ingots
1 leather strip
4 Blue mountain flowers
2 Red Mountain flowers

This shield is about as strong as a Dwarven Shield

For the Light Hylian Shield, you will need:
The schematic from Yngvild in your inventory
The Elven Smithing Perk
1 firewood
1 gold ingot
3 quicksilver ingots
1 leather strip
4 Blue mountain flowers
2 Red Mountain flowers

This shield is as strong as an Elven Shield.

To improve the shield to its best possible strength, go to Valthume and find a bloodstained note by a skeleton lying on a table in a pool of blood near the end of the dungeon.
The note's instructions are summarized as follows:

Go to the Skyforge.

You will need:
The Quick Reflexes Perk from the Block tree
The Arcane Blacksmith Perk
The Advanced Armors Perk
1 courage scroll
1 circle of protection scroll
1 banish daedra scroll
1 luna moth wing

These ingredients will make an enchanted Hylian Shield as strong as a dragonplate shield.
The improved shield has a new enchantment called Blessing of Hylia, exclusive to the shield:
40% Fortify Block
40% resist fire
25% resist frost
25% resist shock
25% resist magic
25% resist poison
25% resist disease


To corrupt the shield, you first need to craft a normal Hylian Shield
Then combine it at the Skyforge with
- Bone meal
- Filled Black soul gem
While having the Elven Smithing perk.

You can "Awaken" this corrupt shield with
- a daedra heart
- Filled Black soul gem
and having the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

July 12th, 2013 - Balanced the various shields. Armor materials may have changed, so look carefully in the smithing menu.
