[HullTec] Gemini Dropship

The Gemini is a very small and compact dropship with 2 Cockpits and 4 passanger seats. It is even a bit smaller than my warbird medium fighter (see picture), so you can land it in nearly every hangar and on every landing platform.

Sadly there are no vanilla doors for small grids, so the "passanger-room" ist not airtight. Your crew will have to take some oxygen with them.

Planetary landing: Yes

Moon landing: with ease. You don't even need hydro thrusters to hover over the moon's surface. You just need them to fly upwards.

- ramp (rotor+blast doors)

Guide: How to leave a planet properly with the GEMINI (works with other ships, too)

<1> make sure there's some ice in your generators
<2> deactivate hydro thrusters (press 9 from cockpit)
<3> hit 8 (increase override) untill the upward-thrusters' override is at max
<4> deactivate dampener (because otherwise it will try to break. This costs you tons of hydrogen/ice)
<5> activate hydrogen thrusters (press 9 again). The ship will now instantly lift off because of the override
<6> you can support the lift off by holding space, so the upward ion thrusters will push you upward, too.
(now the most important part:)
<7> as soon as you reach max speed, try decreasing the override step by step (by pressing 7). Watch your speed: If it is decreasing, you decreased your override to much. increase it again by pressing 8 until you get faster again. Try to keep your speed between 90 and 100 m/s.

NOTE: The higher you get (or the lower the planetary gravitation gets), the less override you need. If you lift off by simply pressing/holding space instead of using this override-method, you will burn 100% fuel until you reach space. By using override and reducing it on your way up, the hydrogen consumption will decrease every ~ 20 seconds.

This method works with every ship that has enough downward facing hydro thrusters. Just make sure, you have all thrusters with an "UP" in their name in one group. Put this group in your cockpit's menu bar 2 times: On is "Decrease Override" and the other one is "Increase override".
