Description
Era - 1990s / 2000s - Boxing - Lightweight

One of the most successful boxers of his era, and one of the most important figures in the world of boxing to this day, Oscar De La Hoya brought undeniable charisma, a cross cultural fan base and fast, skilled punching to the ring.

A Gold Medalist in the 1992 Olympic Games, De La Hoya turned pro in the same year, and would go on to win titles in six separate weight classes from Super Featherweight to Middleweight. Along the way, he would defeat a long list of legends and top rated fighters including Julio Cesar Chavez, Hector "Macho" Camacho, Pernell Whitaker and Fernando Vargas. De La Hoya would also leverage his fame into founding Golden Boy Promotions in 2002, while still continuing to fight.
