Description
The Dornier Do-217 n2 was a night fighter derived from the Do-217, which was a heavy bomber. Major modifications were done in order to convert it to a night fighter. The redesigned nose had radar, and was equipped with several machine guns. In order to increase the efficiency of Bomber interception, machines guns were placed at a 70 degree angle in the fuselage, named "Schräge Musik". Only about 95 of this variant were produced, and they were retired in 1944.
