You are the engineer of a westbound BNSF stack train momentarily stopped at Hesperia. You will soon receive permission to continue westbound to San Bernardino. Due to track work, you will routed at Summit onto the lower-gradient North Track for the descent as far as Cajon Siding. For power, you have a pair of BNSF GE "GEVO" ES44DCs on the point and another as a rear DPU. Note: This scenario uses BNSF and UP equipment from the Marias Pass and Sherman Hill routes. This scenario provides a good opportunity to use the BNSF ES44DC's excellent dynamic brakes.
