There is the image files. The mapping image and the background image. Every pixel on the mapping image represents blocks and objects via color of the pixel. For example, red pixel means empty, yellow pixel means pilot chair and blue pixel means light source.
The background image shows outer ship figures that you can see in game. I told you that each pixel on the mapping image represents blocks and objects. It means the resolution of mapping image is very small because 1 pixel for 1 block. But in game, as you know, 1 block is 17 pixel (not exact). So you need to match the propotion of the mapping image and the background image. (1:17, not exact) If you miss only 1 pixel on the background image, it could be flaw.
