From the surprise hit of 2018, Eli is the friend of Miguel Diaz, Johnny Lawrence's student at the resurrected Cobra Kai dojo.

After witnessing his friend fend off a group of bullies, Eli decides to enlist at Cobra Kai, only to have Sensei Lawrence ridicule the cleft lip he's been made fun of all his life. When requested to stop, Lawrence explains that if his students can't handle petty name-calling, how do they expect to handle combat?

Eli storms off, only to return the next day with a new 'do and a new attitude. From that day on, no one was gonna look at him the same way again. He was Hawk.
