Description
This mod aims to expand upon traits and civics as closely to vanilla as possible with small deviations.

Hello! Welcome to my first mod ever!

I've always felt Stellaris is lacking in the trait / civic department and could do with a freshener, especially if you're a Stellaris veteran and want more variety. I'm almost, if not already at my 900 hours in Stellaris and as a result couldn't help but notice the lack of negative traits. This is what I've started with first and it grew from there.

Eventually I expanded so I'll tell you what the mod features right here:
  • Negative Traits: 3
  • Positive Traits: 1
  • Civics: 9

Mod development roadmap includes:
  • More positive and negative traits
  • More civics, potentially for robot and hivemind empires too
  • Policies

MOD IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH ANY OTHER TRAIT/CIVIC MOD.
Mod works with 2.1.1.


It's worth mentioning this is a pet project and has started as a means to make the game more interesting for my friend and I. It'll be updated whenever I find the time to update it as I'm currently comitted to my software engineering degree.

Most of the "art" was done by me or edited/borrowed from Stellaris, sorry. I'm horrible with GIMP.

Negative Traits:
  • Glutton: +20% Pop Food Consumption Multiplier
  • Very Weak: -40% Army Damage; -10% Pop Mineral Production
  • Immunodeficient: -20% Habitability
Positive Traits:
  • Ascetic: -20% Pop Food Consumption Multiplier
Civics:
  • Administrative Algorithms: -5% Upkeep to Ships & Buildings
  • Diplomatic Corps: +15% Trust Growth; +15 Trust Cap; -5% Border Friction
  • Interstellar Tourism: +5% Empire Energy Generation; +15% Migration Attraction; +10% Xenophile Ethics Attraction; -10% Xenophobe Ethics Attraction
  • Life Extension Act: +20 Years to all Leader Lifespan

As of v0.15 Hive Minds and Machine Intelligences have obtained their initial civics/civic:

Hive Mind Civics:
  • Preservation Instincts - Emergency FTL Damage Risk -25%; Emergency FTL Jump Cooldown -5; Army Disengagement Chance +25%
  • Sequence Augmentation - Research Speed (Biology) +20%; Pop Growth Speed +5%
  • Sustenance Denial - Food Consumption -20%; Army Damage +30%; Army Collateral Damage +50%; Pop Growth Speed -10%
  • Worker Drone Emphasis - Empire Minerals Production +10%, Pop Growth Speed +10%

Machine Intelligence Civic:
  • Preservation Protocols - Emergency FTL Damage Risk -25%; Emergency FTL Jump Cooldown -5; Army Disengagement Chance +25%
