After 11 episodes over 11 weeks, documented on my YouTube channel (final episode airs Saturday, 26 July 2025), I can say this is the most player-unfriendly map I’ve played in MudRunner. Blackwater Canyon feels less like a challenge and more like a punishment. There are no proper roads, just blind hill climbs over loose rock, sudden drop-offs near water, and terrain that makes trailers useless. Deliveries become repetitive slogs, with two sawmills awkwardly placed side by side on the far west of the map.
Instead of testing skill, it tests patience. Progress is about stubborn persistence, not strategy or fun. Even in co-op, this map can sour teamwork.
MudRunner is usually rewarding, but Blackwater Canyon strips away the satisfaction and replaces it with frustration. Unless you’re seeking punishment, I can’t recommend it.
