@Bob in that case, check out NSC2, one of the biggest mods for stellaris, and scroll down to near the bottom. under the yellow box labeled "having a problem with the mod?". these steps are often relisted with various other mods as well, and also the number 1 checklist for the modding discord. also the initial troubleshooting steps for hoi4. the problem isn't modders updating. the problem is that paradox games in particular always seem to have severe issues actually using the updates. I've had to wipe and reinstall my mods on numerous occasions, even with updates I myself made on my own system. game just wouldn't see them until I nuked the launcher.

again, paradox is just that bad with handling mods. point in case, both this mod and the map viewer mod wouldn't work until I resubbed. thankfully surviving mars doesn't have a launcher, so (hopefully) I don't have to deal with nuking the files to get the game to read it, but these issues are really nothing new

Never had an issue with Stellaris. Only when the game was patched or updated, but that's always the case with Mods. I pick Mod Authors that are on the ball, and have a good update history.:kopi::armchair::steamthumbsup:

no, I'm saying that even if you only use mods through the steam workshop it still bugs out. this happens all the time with paradox games specifically. doesn't matter if you're using built-in mod browsers or not. stellaris and hoi4 don't even have mod browsers, they rely entirely on the steam workshop. doesn't stop it from breaking in very odd ways. I'm not talking about takedowns

> oh, no, it happens with steam mods too. paradox is just that bad with handling mods.

Yes, that's what I said?
Paradox has an aggressive takedown policy, steam doesn't give a shit (almost).

On Steam, it usually happens with "Fly By Night" or "One Hit Wonders" Mod Authors. The more reputable authors, it doesn't happen in my experience, and I've been using the Workshop since it came out. Usually I check the authors rep, and number of Mods, and the frequency of updates before I use them. Been there, done that.

oh, no, it happens with steam mods too. paradox is just that bad with handling mods. I deal with it all the time with stellaris and hoi4 lol. but yea I do use steam over the in-game browser whenever possible

That's a good sanity measure to take :)
