Divided Loyalties (SA)(2.1)

Description
More faction conflict for Stellaris.

- Take suppressing vanilla factions one step further and ban them!
- Several 'extreme' factions can form, that will be difficult to please.
- Includes new 'slave' factions, with very low influence.
- Some vanilla demands are now more dynamic, based on pop ethos distribution.
- Some demands cannot go green. The best you can get is yellow.
- Demands can conflict and clash within a faction, making it even harder to please.

This mod is designed to make your game more difficult. It does this explicitly and without reservation. If you don't want the extra difficulty, or feel it is too much complexity, then do not use the mod.

EXTREME FACTIONS
  • Aristocrats
The powerful and intellectually superior who believe that they are entitled to security of their status, that they should control who can gain similar status (through education, rank and inheritance) and that they are superior to everyone beneath them in the social structure. Materialist Ethos.
  • Disenfranchised
Members of this faction want a home and a job and hope for a better future. Pacifist Ethos.
  • Elitists
The wealthy and powerful who believe that they are entitled to security of their status, that they should control who can gain similar status (through privelige and inheritance) and that they are superior to everyone beneath them in the social structure. Egalitarian Ethos.
  • Gladiators
Members of this faction want to prove themselves worthy in battle and to compete for their freedom. Militarist Ethos.
  • Indentured
Members of this faction want to stay in servitude. They like not having to worry about all those matters that concern their betters. Authoritarian Ethos.
  • Labour Union
Industrial, agricultural and manual labourers wanting to work, go where work is, get paid a decent wage and not be exploited by their employers. Slavery, immigration and robots are all threats to this faction. Egalitarian Ethos.
  • Militant Extremists
This faction believes that if we have all these technologies for flying around the galaxy and killing stuff, then we should be flying around the galaxy and killing stuff. Militarist Ethos.
  • Ordered Spiritualists
Members of a militant spiritual order who demand that the empire and its citizens should follow only the one true faith. Then the entire galaxy as well. Spiritualist Ethos.
  • Preservationists
This faction believes in preserving, not exploiting natural resources. That energy should only come from renewable sources. That nature should not be abused or destroyed. That agriculture work harmoniously with an ecosystem. And that industry be restricted and regulated to meet these ideals. Xenophile Ethos.

COMPATIBILITY
Do not use with AlphaMod. Use the supplement.
Do not use Banned! if you use this. It's included.
Built against Stellaris v2.1.1.
All vanilla faction files are modified.
Should be fine with an existing save, although factions may form instantly on load.
Not compatible with Ironman achievements, obviously.

Writing it here because the update mod's comments are closed:
Does this mod work with Ethics and Civics Alternative?
Capitan Boricua 29 Jul, 2020 @ 10:45am
Are those the actual names of the factions?

Hi, are you planning on updating this mod ? Or does it work fine without any update ?
MightNight 16 Dec, 2018 @ 2:30pm
Ahah ok I'll hold off for now then. Take your time no rush! Let me get you two bags of coffee just in case since I know you always end up forgetting about sleep.

Maaaaybe. I think there may have been a few changes to the way Influence is gained, so I'd hold off for now. This particular mod is quite high on my want to update list, though.

Arguing with Ash on this specific mod is futile.
Speaking of which: do you think it would be safe to play with it enabled before you officially update it? I don't recall them messing with Factions in the new update besides how the influence from factions is gained...

1- No they shouldn't.
2- I'm quite aware. Also, Materialists and Egalitarians are not opposing ethos.

Preservationists should have pacifist ethos, like "Agrarian Idyll" civic.
Also aristocrats and elitists sound the same while having opposing ethos.

Same restrictions apply. You can't ban factions that are your empire's ethos. You can't ban extreme factions. To ban a vanilla faction that you can, you suppress it first.

I'm not getting the option to ban factions with this mod. I've unsubscribed from 'Banned'.
