Description

One of the major cities in the province of Laguna, and also known for being the "Makati of the South": Santa Maria City

Currently exists as Santa Rosa City, it is now known as Santa Maria City after it has been renamed (even there's a place called Santa Maria already exists in Laguna, which is located at the Laguna-Quezon-Rizal border), and is named after Pia Sta. Maria.

It is also going to be included in the future South Sub-regional Growth Center of the Metro Manila Dream Plan, which will focus on residental development for informal settlers.

Major improvements focused on infrastructure such as the Laguna Lakeshore Expressway Dike and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAx), and on the city's redevelopment such as more residental areas.

The first Improved Philippine City that has been renamed from its present-day name.

This is the second Improved Philippine City that is not focused on public transport improvement, after Improved Muntinlupa City.
