Description
We pick up where the Greater Golden Horseshoe map left off, by heading west along the shores of Lake Erie, up the Detroit River, through Lake St Clair and up the St Clair River to connect Lake Huron shipping routes.

This is the first released version of the map, and I have not had time for a full play through to test gameplay. If you have any feedback and suggestions, please leave them in the comments below! Much appreciated, thanks!

Update: 4 Jul @ 10:37am
  • Fixed Coal mine missing in Lite.
  • Fixed Lorain Steel Mill missing.

About the Map:

The Canada-United States border runs through the map via the lake and rivers. On the Canadian side, the map stretches as far east as London, Ontario. Sarnia, home to the “Chemical Valley”, is where Ontario connects to Michigan via Port Huron.

Along the Detroit River is where Windsor, Ontario connects to “The Motor City” Detroit, Michigan. This metropolis is the urban focal point for the map, including its suburbs of Dearborn, Warren and Pontiac. The map extends to Flint in the northwest. Rounding out the southern part of Michigan are the communities of Ann Arbor and Monroe.

At the western end of Lake Erie, where the Maumee river drains into the lake, is the city of Toledo, Ohio. Heading east along the shore are cities including Sandusky, Port Clinton and Lorain. The map includes the steel hub of Cleveland, and south along the Cuyahoga River to Akron, Ohio home of The Black Keys.

By subscribing to this mod, you will receive three versions of the map:

‘Erie Shores’
  • Standard version with all towns and industries designed from real world locations.
  • Recommended for high-end PC systems.

‘Erie Shores Lite’
  • Reduced town placement and size for increased performance.
  • Removed: Saint Clair, Grosse Ile, Vermilion, Norwalk, Glencoe, Tecumseh, Cuyahoga Falls, Lakewood, Blenheim, Algonac, Warren, Woodville, Adrian, Farmington, East Toledo.
  • Removed a handful of industries.
  • Recommended for playing on laptops or lower-end PC systems.

‘Erie Shores No Industry’
  • Standard town placement.
  • Removed industries for custom placement.
  • Two farm industries remain so you can load the map without the error.

About Lake Erie:

The southernmost Great Lake is an important ecological and economical part of Ontario, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York. It is home to a vast tourism industry for boating, fishing and hunting. Recent infestations of algae due to high amounts of phosphorus in the water are negatively impacting the vital water source. During winter, lake effect snow blowing from the lake often blankets Buffalo.

hi, nice map but because some towns are to close each other, basically are growing by themselves . I tried to delete some from your file but game is giving fault when trying to generate streets, although is set as false in the base_game file ( town connections).
I really like the map but auto growing towns are just not my style. Any idea how to fix this??

is this a 4k or 6k map

The roads are auto-generated by the game when it loads the map for the first time. Unless I upload a save game file, but that's different.

@Spearin I meant could you change the map a bit so that it STARTS with a higher bridge or no bridge?
Spearin  [author] 29 Jul, 2018 @ 7:38pm
@Snek Boi Yes, you will need to demolish the bridge and build a new taller one that will accommodate ships. If you enable the navigable waters overlay (bottom right of screen) as you build, you'll see when it's green and ships can pass through.

Is it possible to either rise the Detroit-Windsor Bridge so that ships can pass under it or remove it?
