"Good Morning, and welcome to the Black Mesa Transit System."

This map, made painstakingly brush by brush, is an example of all my previous work on rp_sectorc, rp_lambdacore, and my work with Tripmine Studios. This truly is, the Black Mesa Research Facility. I am proud to bring it to the community after months of work. It is by far the largest Black Mesa Roleplay map ever created on Garry's Mod.

Suffice to say all Labs and equipment have a purpose. Activate the Anti-Mass Spectrometer and test some samples, don the vest and helmet and protect the facility from intruders, have a day off and relax in the dormitories and desert, or brave the dark and foreboding borderworld and get suited up for Xen. The world is in your hands to do with as you please.

This map contains over 80 custom models, sounds, and materials that further enhance the roleplay experience. Combined with the faithful Half-Life 1 textures and sounds, it's my rendition of how I imagine the facility as a whole.

Without further delay, here's what the pack has to offer!

Inside this complete map, you'll find the following areas and sectors:

  • Sector D Administration
  • Sector E Biodome Complex
  • Sector F Lambda Complex
  • Level 1 Main Facility Entrance
  • Level 3 Dormitories
  • Area 3 Security
  • The Black Mesa Transit System
  • The Black Mesa Desert
  • A small xen area

  • Furnished corridors, rooms and maintenance areas
  • Fully functioning alarm system
  • Automatic Diagnostic & Announcement system
  • Fully useable test labs

Stats for nerds:
  • This map is at 99.8% brush limit. Adding much more will break the limits, and my sanity. (UPDATE: 99.9%! )
  • At a whopping 317.8% entdata limit, it's the largest and most complex map I've ever created...
  • In order for this map to make it out of production, I've had to circumvent 4 different Source Engine limits and 2 fatal engine errors.
  • This map has been my life for longer than I can remember. I've lost count of the hours of work it's taken (much to my wife's despair).
  • There's MANY easter eggs both in the map, and in the VMF. When you think you've found them all, look again.

Its because the map is compiled on HDR, which HL:S does not support HDR textures for its envmaps and spheremaps due to lacking HDR versions of said textures, the washed out look also is tied to bad env_tonemap_controller settings.

Just set HDR to off and it should fix it.

all the explosion sounds are static, models are changed, etc etc

all the rp_bmrf packs break parts of gmod can you fix it please

So I detonated a nuke and it said the explosion killed four actors and three headcrabs, I found the four actors, (Houndeyes and Xen Tentacle), but I've been madly searching for the three head crabs, where are they?

Its because the Sat globe (and a few other entities on the map) are cycler NPCs, i found this out when making a edit of a map based on this one.

probably should have been prop_dynamic even if it would be more expensive.
