All-In: Hot Rock Mountain

Description
Everyone in town thought it was just the mountain the sun rose over.

If they knew just how many suns there were *under* that mountain, *some* of them may have walked away from the penny slot machines. Not many though.

Both the Combine, and the Paneuropean Federation are going after the largest remaining store of nuclear weapons and materials on the planet.

Both sides have 99 points of armor, and 99 points of infantry. Both sides need to bring fresh, non-radioactive water. The Colorado River is poisoned beyond reclamation. Do not use the beaches.

Also, do not use wheeled vehicles. Too many barriers to cross. Not even Mad Max would use an all-light tank force.

The Combine enters from the southeast (Arizona), and northeast (Utah). The northeastern entrance is next to the entry for the Grand Canyon.

Paneurope enters from California, dividing around Mount Charleston. The northwest entry point goes past the cratered Indian Springs installation. The soutwest entrance follows I-15 from the southeast.

Both McCarran Field, and Nellis have been thouroghly nuked. The Strip, and the city are rubbled. The Dam has been hit-and missed- several times. Lake Mead has drained away. Virgin Peak, on the Arizona side, is much the worse for wear. Henderson, Nevada, at the western end of the corridor, is trashed.

Lake Mead Boulevard passes directly to the south of the mountain, and goes straight to what was once the lake.

The road is a natural kill zone, with cliffs within meters of the road. They *can* be climbed by hand. Mobile howitzers will make it a death trap.

Frenchman's Peak, the official name for Sunrise Mountain, is where the Melted OGRE symbol is. It once had an aeronautical beacon, that visitors could climb to, and see the entire Vegas Valley from it. Not anymore...

Mount Hayford, to the north, rises to 10,000 feet/3 KM MSL, and is condidered sacred by native traditions.

Mount Charleston, to the west, with the crumbled road up it, is one of the most accesible alpine resorts in the world.

Whoever gets to be King of the Hill, then has to get through the security protecting the weapons. The Sun May Well Rise Again...

My first giant map, and of course, I threw in max point values for both sides.

The map has major distortions, and omissions for "simplicity". :)

The road extends all the way to Lake Mead, due to water demands shrinking the lake.
