Synthesize the Soul

Description
Intel
The kindred of this coven have taken a liking to their ashified siblings. Purge them all.

This an edit of a big overhaul of the original file (condensed a lot), which I now reuploaded here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3155172287

If i had anything to critique it's the slowdown at the end when you have to clear the dancing vampires, but that might just be an unavoidable glitch. idk

Pretty good and streamlined version of the map, nice variety, and branching paths. Having phylactries in fun places is cool; especially w/ the extra phylactery only being connected to the backup. Possible for both stealth and guns blazing.

I've played both this and the OG version. They're the prettiest maps I think I've seen on this workshop, and the OG version is one of the most interconnected and interesting maps. I like this version for being more streamlined too (it's also less frustrating when dying). Great work!

It's fine - I wouldn't even known that the original level had been uploaded long ago if it weren't for you. I mean obviously in part I did upload the level so people would play it and perhaps add it to steam as well though I would have liked to been made aware of the said fact.

I have to admit I do find it amusing when Mendax mentions reasons as to "why" they did do that or that in the level design wise :D Regardless, for archival purposes it's good to have the original level on its own as it's a totally different beast. The nuance and complexity is on a whole another level. Unfortunately, the game currently can't handle levels of such sheer scale, which is my reason for creating the new, much smaller edit.

I recommend checking out my other level since it's also built around a similar "center piece" of a room:

Whose Mendax? I've uploaded this level for sharing for one youtuber and on reddit as well. That was when I only owned the GOG variation of the game. Mendax must have downloaded the .nc file and shared here. Kind of strange that they didn't credit me :/

The old level experienced a lot of slowdown (too large and too many light sources) so I removed the parts that I didn't feel where that crucial to the central idea. I do plan to turn that into its own level though. I added the weapons since stages should be playable with the starting equipment alone. I also changed the doorways (swinging and openable) so that the vampires can get through them properly.

Hey, aren't you essentially reusing Mendax's "Synthesis of the soul"? The room layouts are a carbon copy and the only thing that's changed is you removing some parts of it and adding weapons here and there. Lame.
