The Republic of Breslan, after suffering bloody political and inter-ethnic wars during the 90s, is in a fragile peace after the creation of an autonomous Parliament in East Breslan after the events between 1999 and 2000, being signed the agreement with the supervision of the Russian Federation in 26th December 2000.

In 2001, after new armed confrontations between the new provisional government of Breslan and paramilitary groups of the 1990s wars, the Russian Federation, together with the neighboring Cherno-Zagoria Republic, sent up to 4 motorized infantry divisions to the country to act as a peacekeeping force to guarantee compliance with armistice agreements between the two parts of the 1991-1999 conflict and protect the ethnic minorities affected in the war and the upcoming escalation of violenece with unsatisfied paramilitaries.
