This mod brings the music of the Nier/Drakengard/Drag-on Dragoon series into XCOM 2/WotC using The Music Modding System by E3245 and robojumper. You'll need The Music Modding System installed to use it - but if you've got that installed, Subscribe and you're good to go!

Q&A
What's the general vibe of this mod?
Intense percussion-driven orchestral compositions with vocals in ethereal, alien tongues. Some tracks mix different types of instrumentation from around the world into their composition, and some tracks mix the sounds of an alien presence or the sounds of alien machinery into their composition.
Is this mod compatible with both WotC and Legacy?
Hopefully. It was compiled in the WotC SDK, but all of the functionality it calls on comes directly from the Music Modding System, which in turn was compiled for Legacy and is just compatible with WotC anyway. With that said, people have reported issues (of the game-crashing kind) with using this mod in Legacy, but then there's also a Legacy version of the mod available here.
The file size is pretty ridiculous.
Yup. Because the Unreal Engine SDK was self-evidently designed by those who delight in the suffering of their fellow man, you're only allowed to use audio that's in the horribly outdated, horribly bloated .WAV format - hence the ridiculous filesize for this audio mod.

Note:
I've had a new version of the mod mostly ready to go for a while, except that the majority of the additions in the new version are dependent on functionality that isn't present in the current Music Modding System (or at least in the WotC-compatible Music Modding System). So that it isn't all going completely to waste until a new version of the Music Modding System (or of an equivalent) is released, you can find the raw project files for the updated version of the mod here[mega.nz] if you wish to listen to them or to tinker with them.

for some reason this mod made my game crash on last mission when i tried to go on worl map. but great mod and great music.

Figures. I still think I might update this mod some time if a new version of the Music Modding Framework comes along, but after three years now I haven't been holding my breath.

Seems like the mod stopped working. The menu and in Starfire the music sometimes appear but in other sections is default XCOM 2/WotC music.

This mod doesn't seem to like the vanilla game. Downloaded Music Modding System for Vanilla and couldn't get this music mod to work.

Dude thank you for making this mod, I love NieR's Music. It inspired me to learn piano and I even made a Sound Track Mod for Xenoverse 2 on NieR Gestalt/Replicant/Automata. And sorry if this is self-promoting just proving that I actually mad a NieR music mod for another game instead of talking from my butt.

I totally forgot about making a NieR Music mod for Xcom 2, but I'm really glad there's another Nier Fan who'd go through the trouble of doing so. I haven't tried out the mod yet because I'm still managing my mod list (700+ mods) but once I do I'll be sure to come back and comment on it. Still Awesome Mod and thank you so much for making it!

Hasn't worked for me. Does it not work in WotC? Does it work if you've got other music mods active? Is there any way to make it so this mod will work in my game, such as going into my documents and such? Will this music only trigger in certain missions?

Favorite soundtracks from my favorite NieR games! (In case the Weiss profpic didn't make that apparent) Though, I didn't realize Drakengard had such good music, too. Thanks a million to you and father Keiichi

Thank you. Though I've never even touched Nier, you introduced me to an amazing composer and his fantastic works. I will probably check out the NieR games in the future, but I would just like to say thanks again, especially for making an especially intense Avenger Defense mission.

Just FYI, Vanilla will frequently crash if you try to load in .UPKs made with the WotC tools.
