Description
Chatsounds Revisited is an updated and improved version of the original chatsounds add-on.

What this add-on simply does is it plays a sound (from another game) that corresponds with the in-game text message that a player types.
For example, typing “cheese” in-game will play the Half-Life 2 citizen quote, “Sometimes, I dream about cheese”.

This adds a fun, humor, and roleplay factor to the gameplay that works great for most any server; it is especially designed for roleplaying and sandbox servers.

In order for a player to hear a sound, they must have the associated game mounted. This add-on uses sounds from Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, and Portal.

Clients do not need to subscribe to the add-on, only the server needs to host it and then it should work for all players connected.

To install Chatsounds Revisited to your server, subscribe to the add-on and (if you are running dedicated) add it to the server’s workshop collection.
If you want to add your own custom sounds, you must install it manually from here: https://garrysmods.org/download/62295/chatsounds-revisited

REGULAR USER OR CLIENT-SIDE COMMANDS:

!chatsounds enable

ADMIN-ONLY COMMANDS:

!chatsounds proximity 0/1

When enabled, only players near each other can hear the chatsounds that someone played, it will get louder or quieter depending on distance (i.e. the Doppler effect). When disabled, the chatsounds will be heard by everyone on the server at any distance. This command is not persistent; after a server restart it is set back to the default setting (off).

!chatsounds mute <player>
Mute a specified player; a muted player can no longer play any chatsounds. This setting is not persistent (players will be unmuted upon reconnecting or after a server restart).

!chatsounds unmute <player>

Is there a way to stop players from being able to spam the sounds all at once?

example If a player does " hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi" and so on until they are unable to type anymore it will play all the hi's at the same time causing horrible spam
