The Magnificent Playable Reshade Preset

Description
PLAYABLE RESHADE SETTING FOR BOTH CAMPAIGN AND BATTLES

*All screenshots are direct in-game footage in motion, using same reshade settings without alterations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a dummy file for steam workshop. It does not have to be activated for Reshade/my preset to work.
However, I appreciate the subscribes/faves for visibility. Download preset [drive.google.com]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First thing i've noticed when i installed Warhammer II was how tacky the graphics looked, even with ultra settings.
The colors looked off, unbalanced contrast etc. that gives such a great game a cheap feeling. I was so annoyed by it, had to do my own reshade settings to make the game look good. Im so satisfied with this mod, i felt compelled to share it. It really transforms the game. what it shouldve been in first place.

--------------------------
What it does and what is special about this preset:
--------------------------

It adds a bunch of fine-tuned subtle shader effects, like color balance, HDR, grain, darken, bloom etc.
But what makes this preset special is how playable it is. I couldnt find a single preset online that looked pretty both in campaign and battle maps. Most of them are tuned for still shots and not good for playing. This is for playing and suitable for both battles and campaign.

With this preset only thing you may have to change is the brightness, depending on the map. Thats it.

--------------------------
How to install the preset:
--------------------------
Download the preset here from my google drive. Drop it into your main Warhammer II Directory (Steam/steamapps/common/Total War WARHAMMER II) where your Warhammer2.exe is.

--------------------------
How to install Reshade:
--------------------------
Download Reshade installer here https://reshade.me/
Run the installer and target Warhammer2.exe in Steam/steamapps/common/Total War Warhammer II.
Select Directx 10+.
Download ALL shaders.
-"Rename "dxgi.dll" to "d3d11.dll". Same for the "dxgi.ini".-
Start the game, Reshade will load (taking time depending on how many extra shaders you chose to download.
It will give you a little tutorial, then you just select my preset from the drop down box.
You can now put Reshade in Performance mode in the Settings tab.
Optional: Add shortcuts for Toggle On/OFF, I use Scroll Lock for toggling all effects.

--------------------------
RECOMMENDED
--------------------------

-Use the same settings as mine (last screenshot) or you can use even lower settings for performance. I had all in ultra before reshade.
-Im using SFO 2, Brutal Battles, Small Banners and White grombrindal mods

I hope you can get the same results. let me know about what you think and if you like it, please keep it subscribed/fave it for visiblity.

ENJOY!

Thanks for this preset, it looks great and doesn't seem to impact performance much !
For those who have some kind of flickering with "shadows", it's caused by Logitech G HUB program. For some reason it makes MXAO flicker, just quit G HUB and you shouldn't have the issue.

@Calibrated
Thanks, it also fixes MXAO.

To everyone wanting to use Depth of field: To fix DoF on the newest version (the depth buffer specifically) press Home and look up at the top for the D3x11 tab. Select that tab and check mark "Use aspect ratio heuristics"... Check mark "Copy depth buffer before clear operations" And check mark your resolution (1920x1080 or whatever) DONE DoF will now work!

Depth of Field no longer works with the latest reshade update

How big of an impact does this have on FPS?

I was missing the dxgi.ini.. but i took an ini file from another game.. opened it.. deleted everything inside.. renamed it to dxgi.ini and slapped it in my total war folder.. this let me launch the game with the shader running.. hope this helps someone that comes after me (i was too lazy to figure out how to make a fresh ini file)

I don't think you can upload a reshade file to the workshop per se. You have to make a place-holder file to upload, then attach a link to the actual reshade in the mod description. Use the section on uploading your mod to see how to do this https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702343155
