Description
Thankyou for trusting your life to a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E!
Why settle for one rude accronym when you can have two?!

Another oldie-but-goodie from the archives...
Some of you may remember this ship from my old workshop some time ago. It was never exactly a sensation but it was useful & cool-looking enough that I thought it was worth re-building. Thankfully a few screenshots survived & I was able to reconstruct it exactly as it was... so if you've seen this ship before... yep, that was me - accept no pr0stitutes substitutes!

All the usual quality from SAVTec
  • 100% mod-free
  • No Pistons or Scripts. Landing pad uses 1 rotor that doesn't move. It's very stable.
  • Nice neat control panel - everything named & grouped
  • Ideal first interstellar ship for landing on or leaving new planets
  • Perfect for new players. Just as useful for seasoned veterans
  • Novice skill level to build - basic understanding of game mechanics needed

New & improved Mk3 version
The Mk3 is the latest model & features several important improvements.
  • New large-port conveyor system. All components will now move between both cargo containers & both connectors.
  • Increased forward Ion thrust - not a lot but it does make a difference in space.
  • More gyroscopes for faster, more responsive handling
  • A ventral Merge Block. The P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E can now dock with (and be constructed on) the SAVTec S.L.U.T.T.Y modular landing pad, as used by my S.L.U.T.S atmospheric cargo ship.
  • The P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E blueprint now includes a S.L.U.T.T.Y landing pad (See screenshot).

Say hello to a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E
As it's name suggests, the P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E is a Personal Inter-Stellar Ship for Atmospheric Reconnaisance and Space Exploration... a small-grid, one-man light cargo transport capable of flying in space and atmosphere and transitioning between the two in either direction... it's a space plane!

While P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E's generally tend to be quite placid & laid back, they're still capable of defending themselves (in a woefully meek fashion). Once in a while a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E may even get bold & start a fight - not that it's particularly capable of finishing one...

P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E's are more expensive (to build) than T.A.R.T's and S.L.U.T.S, owing to their insatiable Uranium habit, which kicks in as soon as they wake up - but they're nowhere near as pricey as W.H.O.R.E's.

You'll need a rudimentary understanding of psychology to turn ordinary blocks into P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E's but in a survival situation we're confident you'll develop the skills quickly.

Biography of a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E
P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E's are simple creatures. They crave only one thing - Uranium on the rocks.
Keep a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E in fuel and ice and it'll stay up in the clouds all day!
Features include...
  • 1x Large Reactor
  • 2x O2/H2 Generator
  • 1x Oxygen Tank
  • 1x Air Intake (set to Depressurise = ON to save your O2 reserves during atmospheric flight)
  • 2x Hydrogen Tank
  • 2x Medium Cargo Container
  • 1x Antenna
  • 1x Remote Control
  • 2x Forward Gattling Guns
  • 1x Dorsal Gattling Turret
  • Ventral Connector
  • Dorsal Connector (just pour that nectar in there!

Flying with a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E
P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E.S really hate being grounded. They were born to fly man!<hic!> and they've made an art form of doing it at every single opportunity.
They fly just like planes... waaaaaaahaaayyyyy<hic!>

For flight, P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E's use a combination of all 3 thruster types, all of which are grouped & hotkeyed for your convenience.
Note that the Hydrogen Thrusters are hotkeyed in 2 separate groups - Boosters and Arrestors. This is done to help you manage your Hydrogen reserves efficiently. Use the Boosters to launch into space and the Arrestors (or retro rockets) to slow you down quickly in a planet's atmosphere.
Remember to turn them off when they're not needed to save on precious fuel - and use the boosters sparingly during takeoff so as not to run out before you reach space.

For the fastest & most fuel-efficient takeoff, use the Atmospheric Thrusters to bring the ship up to full speed before you pitch up & engage the Hydrogen boosters...

Controlling a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E
While this might sound like an exercise in futility it really isn't...
Everything you need to takeoff, fly and land is hotkeyed on hotbar #1, with weapons on hotbar #2.
The control panel is nice & tidy for you. Everything is neatly named, grouped and hidden where appropriate.

Getting a P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E loaded
Not a difficult thing to do at all. Can be done in a number of ways.
The P.I.S.S.A.R.S.E can get loaded manually through the cargo container ports or from above or below via the dorsal & ventral connectors.
The Mk3 version features a large-port conveyor system that can move all types of components between both cargo containers and both connectors, making the ship more useful than ever!
Since the reactor port is not directly accessible, always make sure at least one battery has at least some charge at any given time - else you wont be able to get fuel to the reactor if it runs dry.

Feedback
Comments / questions / suggestions / constructive criticism all very welcome.
I've even been known to do the odd request-build from time to time, so if you have an idea, drop me a line. If I like it I may build it.

@Eno..... Small grids can't actually be projected from a large projector but to get around the problem, just build a large grid rotor, grind away the rotor top-part, then in the control panel for the rotor hit the button marked "Add small head".
On the new small rotor head, build a small-grid projector, then project the blueprint from that.
The small projector will take its power direct through the rotor from your large grid base.

Notice there's also a button in the rotor control panel marked "Attach".
You can use that button to connect rotor parts that are already constructed - just line up the parts so the head is "inserted" central into the rotor, then click the button.

The only combination you can't do is Small-grid rotor + Large rotor head, due to the large rotor head being bigger than the small rotor body.
Also, head type must match rotor type, IE cannot attach Advanced rotor top parts to normal rotors or normal rotor top parts to advanced rotors.

Can someone explain how in P.I.S.S. do I project this entirely small grid ship on a large projector?

@cyberwolfent... sorry to hear you're having problems with it.
The ship is fuelled, yes? And there's fuel in the reactors?
The reactors are turned on?
The thrusters or control panel group "Flight Systems" are turned on?
And the landing gears are all unlocked & not set to "autolock"?
And the merge block is not merged to a landing platform (is turned off)?
If yes to all then there should be nothing stopping the ship from taking off.

Note: Ship may not be able to take off vertically from non-atmospheric planets (depending on strength of gravity field), as it has only a small number of ventral Ion thrusters.

I can't get her to launch! What ever I try either results in no fuel. Or, not launching. I know it has to do with the merge block. But, I can't figure it out

BLUE PRINT IS FULLY WORKING 100% IF ANY ONE IS ASKING

i am just having a small problem already tested it in vanilla world working well
cptsavarus  [author] 1 Oct, 2018 @ 10:11am
Did you test it in a vanilla world? Is the cockpit thing working now?

I'm trying to avoid uploading multiple versions of the same things if I can help it.
If you want the ship without the landing pad, just paste it into a creative world, delete the landing pad & take a new blueprint of the ship on its own. That way you get the ship & I don't have to add 2 more files to my (already ridiculously long) blueprints list. :steamhappy:
Laffyistired 1 Oct, 2018 @ 7:25am
@cptsavarus can you upload the ship blue print with out the landing pad thanks for both ships
Laffyistired 30 Sep, 2018 @ 9:33pm
@cptsavarus i do that when i wake up the world is new i even reinstalled the game so its 100% fresh files i do what u said when i wake up cool cptsavarus also add me as friend please sent u request thanks
