Action Cam!

Description
This cinematic camera mod follows the action in your city by showing you views of emergency and disaster response vehicles.

Notes
  • Cinematic camera scripts are mods, so they disable achievements.
  • Vehicles and camera routines are picked at random. You may get duplicates in a row.
  • Hearses are included under the health category. They are handled like any other vehicle, even if they aren't very action-packed.
  • If no service vehicles are in the city at all, the camera will follow a random road in the city.

Future
This script currently doesn't have a lot of smarts, and some camera routines might not make a lot of sense for the item being shown. I'd like to add some filters based on properties of the vehicles. For example, if a helicopter is chosen, different camera routines could be available.

If possible, I'd like to include certain buildings like buildings on fire or rubble. Currently the script only follows vehicles.

As far as I know, it shouldn't be any different than any other mod. I let Steam Workshop handle everything for me, so I don't know the file location for mods from other sources.

are cinematic camera mods supposed to go in a different? or just AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Mods like usual?

There's a cinematic camera control in the bottom right corner of the screen. You have to click the arrow and select a camera. Take a look at the last screenshot for an example.

Hey, I'm glad it's working better.

That's a pretty good idea for a possible setting (if settings are possible). I'll keep it in mind and look into it if I make more improvements.

Update on previous comment: I have unsubbed and resubbed and now seems to be working.
Is it possible to increase the time the camera stays on one vehicle? I'd actually even like to have it follow one vehicle, say police, until its shift ends and only then switch to another one. This way, you can kind of really see the work that is being done by firefighters, police etc. :)

Hey BluJayBird, thanks for being so kind. I have tried it couple more times, mostly it now follows one vehicle and then upon switching to the next this is now where the game freezes. I'll check what you suggested, as I really like the idea of the mod, but it's not super high priority for me. Thanks again though :)

Sorry it's not working for you, RoliTheOne. You could try removing and re-adding it or looking for mod conflicts if you have a lot of other mods. A more detailed mod troubleshooting guide may be able to help. If you want more help, find me on Twitter (BluJBird) and I'll see what I can do.

Just tried it for the first time and it just instantly makes the game freeze up ouch :D
