※ We have confirmed the Epsilon Modified Talker v4.195 was plagiarized by core members of Last Stand. The current official talker scripts included plenty of stolen talker code from Modified Talker. The complete proof and explanation have been released at Reddit already and please upvote this thread to make more players realize the truth.

If you enjoyed the Modified Talker in your gameplay before and still adore it, now it's time to speak up for Modified Talker!




The L4D2 Modified Talker is an addon which improves the survivor's conversation. It's not a radial menu but an awesome addon to experience unique gameplay of L4D2.

1. Please remove any addons which include talker files before you install Modified Talker.
You can only use one talker addon at a time.

2. Owing to that certain community campaigns didn't include "stringtable_dictionary.dct" before, they cannot run with Modified Talker. You'll see following message in console while loading the map:

Map ????? missing stringtable dictionary, don't ship this way!!!
#######################################

3. This addon is only available when hosting your own server such as local server, L4D2 dedicated server or single player offline game.
It's server-side addon so won't take effect on official servers.

• The distant L4D1 survivors can respond your calling when vocalizing "PlayerLostCall" with radial menu.
  
• Bot survivors can say "Ammo here!" when they find ammo piles before players.
  
• When you run after injured teammates to give them pills or an adrenaline shot, survivors will actively say: "Here! You're gonna need this!"
  
• HealingCoverMe + WaitHere. When a survivor is healing himself, one of the nearest survivors will say "Wait here!" actively.
  
• Improved that L4D1&2 survivors found tier 2 or better weapons, they could say specific lines. Most of them will say "Guns here!" instead of "Weapons here!"
  
• Added "Car alarm warning" for L4D2 survivors. The first survivor seeing an alarm car will warn his teammates in any campaign.
  
• Added "Healing Suggestion." If your HP is below 40 and carrying a first aid kit, others will suggest: "You should heal up."
  
• The exclusive concepts for radial menu such as "MTEllisStories" and "IHate", which are only available in Modified Talker!

• Added support for [L4D2] Special Infected Warnings Vocalize Fix - Lite plugin. This plugin fixed the "I heard a (Boomer/Charger/Smoker/Spitter/Tank) around" warning lines.
  
• Fixed Francis' bug of friendly fire. You won't hear Francis utters Bill's voice and blames himself "Francis, check your fire!" anymore.
  
• Fixed "TeamKill" response. When you killed a survivor, another witnessed survivor had some furious reaction.
  
• Fixed Nick's injured lines of Hard Rain. He won't speak specific Hard Rain wounded lines in other campaigns anymore.
  
• Fixed the lines of requesting healing for L4D1 survivors. Injured bot survivors can request players for healing.
  
• Fixed the lines of thanks for getting items. Survivors will thank their teammates who give them pills or an adrenaline shot.
  
• Fixed special lines while L4D2 survivors are taking the elevator in finale of the Passing.
  
• Fixed that survivors say "Guns here!" when spotting any melee weapons.
  
• Fixed broken conversation of tattoo store in the Passing.
  
• Fixed the dialogues when Witch bride is chasing you in the Passing.
  
• Fixed safe room dialogues in the Passing and the Sacrifice. You wouldn't interrupt dialogues anymore because of picking up weapons or using radial menu.

You can also adopt the way better version - L4Dε Modified Talker[www.gamemaps.com]. DO NOT install both talker addons in single server.

Declaration: those fake addons which released in Steam workshop after 2018 and *credited* my name never requested the permission. You should consider those "credits" to be "stealing from" and enjoy the bugs prepared for them.
