Gibson Hall

Description
This is a yearlong project I undertook to create a British theme park. The park is built around an old stately home, Gibson Hall, where a small funfair in the gardens has been developed to a fully-fledged theme park over the years. As a British park the budget isn’t as big as the American parks however the house and gardens provide a stunning backdrop to the park. This the American parks can’t compete with as they started 200 years too late! Gibson Hall has seven themed areas, as well as the house and gardens to explore, when you get home you’ll want to come right back!

Entrance (Talbot Street)

Once you have left the car in the ample free parking you will enter through the main entrance, underneath the monorail station. You will step back in time onto Talbot Street, a delightfully themed Dickensian shopping area complete with Victorian carousel and barber shop quartet. This area also hosts a chair swing, Ferris wheel and dragon coaster and is the perfect place to pick up the perfect souvenir all captured in a world of fantasy.

Festival Park

This area of the park plays host to the oldest ride in the park, the towering wooden coaster known as the big dipper, built in 1951. From the top of the lift hill you will see such fascinating views before the big drop! Festival Park also plays host to a selection of classic fairground attractions.

Nottingham

This area is themed after the legend of Robin Hood and has a very special atmosphere, why not get a drink in the replica of the oldest inn in England (Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem) or immerse yourself in the legend that is robin hood with our Robin Hood Escape! pretzel ride and 'The Hood', our newest coaster from B&M.

Science Station

If you want to find the strangest of sensations, then pay a call to this futuristic zone and let our rides take you there! Take a ride on the centrifuge or get plunged into the dark abyss with 'Experiment X', the parks dive coaster. If you would prefer to take more control you can try the go karts that race below the coaster.

Haunted Hollow

The hollow is home to the parks spooky rides and ghostly happenings! Scare yourself silly by visiting the old vicarage haunted house or be turned into a crow and take flight on the wing coaster. Either way be sure to visit 'Doom & Son's' to find the perfect spooky headwear!

Okavango Valley

Fancy something more adventurous? Then head into the heart of Africa and visit the Okavango Valley. Why not explore the jewel mine on our mine train coaster, or adventure along the Okavango River on the rapids ride? Then grab a bite to eat as you watch the ancient African snake god spin our guests over and over!

Pirate Walk

Young children will love the Pirate's Walk. Take a stroll along the edge of the lake and admire the views as you listen to the jaunty pirate music and shout Heave-Ho! on our pirate ship ride. Just be careful not to go overboard too soon.

House & Gardens (Old Stable Hotel)

If you fancy a break from the excitement, then take a stroll in the exquisite and tranquil gardens, the finest that you will ever see. Laid out by Capability Brown the gardens offer places to relax and enjoy the views from the follies and temples to the hedge maze and conservatories. When the day is finally over you can also relax for the evening in the converted stables for an excellent night’s sleep, all ready to enjoy a second day at the park. Gibson Hall showcases the very best of thrills and spills embraced with trees and flowers.
