Description
Not every service on the Portsmouth Direct Line runs the full length. Every hour, one service travels as far south as Haslemere, where it terminates before returning to London Waterloo.

In this scenario, take control of a mid-afternoon Haslemere service, tackling the intermittent drizzle along the way.

As always, this scenario is scheduled fom the actual July 2018 timetable for the line, so all AI trains are accurate (minus a few that didn't work due to TS limitations).

I've learnt how to use stopping points now! This means that from this scenario onwards, all my scenarios on this line will use stopping points, including for the player train. I have made it so that it is possible to get Gold, and possibly even the full 1000 points, even if you completely ignore the stopping points, however they do net you extra points if you do stop accurately, therefore allowing for mistakes elsewhere.

I have noticed with this scenario, and I assume it is the same with all others, that sometimes upon saving and re-loading the game, trains still waiting in portals at that time to start their journey subsequently fail to appear as scheduled. Therefore, if you do save and come back later, expect to see very little if any AI from that point onwards.

I strongly suggest that you save the scenario (F2) upon arrival at Woking. If, just before departing Woking, you get an AI collision or AI left the path message, then reloading from this save will hopefully fix it (It did in my test run).

Duration: 65 minutes.

This scenario forms part of a collection of scenarios for the Extended PDL: London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour. The others can be found in the collection link at the top of the description.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, and that the save/reload system works for others as well and it wasn’t just a one off. I assume it just resets the TS signalling system, so it is ignoring any previous AI trains, and has less to think about, but I don’t really know!

That was great. I followed your advice and saved and reloaded at Woking and all worked perfectly from then on including all the AI trains. The odd thing was that train 1P46 Ptmh - Waterloo still left the adjoining platform as scheduled but this time did not leave its path just outside the station.

Yeah, I forgot to put this in the description and am going to add it now. When I test ran this scenario a few weeks ago I had the same issue. Luckily, I had saved upon arriving at Woking a few minutes early. When I reloaded the save, everything worked fine, although I believe that is because trains stopped appearing out of portals.

Have played this scenario without any problem until an AI train "left it's path" at 14:09 while I was standing in Woking station. Unfortunately I didn't have a pen handy to write down the Lat. and Long. positions. Up until that point everything had worked perfectly.
